Rodolfo Landim traveled to the Federal District with one objective: to organize a movement against one of the projects being proposed by the Flamengo Deliberative Council. In the proposal, remote voting would be allowed for the various decisions circulating in the club. Initially, this idea arose during the mandate of former president Bandeira de Mello.

The president of Mengão was in Brasília this week lobbying against this project. It was the current federal deputy Eduardo Bandeira de Mello, Landim's predecessor, who came up with the idea. Currently, the change is in the Chamber's Sports Committee awaiting a vote on the positive opinion of deputy Lafayette de Andrada (Republicanos-MG).

According to 'Extra', Landim spent two days in the capital talking with deputies, in an attempt to change the situation, as it is contrary to this idea. However, Landim's process to avoid reform is far from over.

In August 2020, during the height of the pandemic, a modification to the Pelé Law began to guarantee remote voting in club elections. Interestingly, as soon as the change came into force, Flamengo imposed an abusive 165% increase in the monthly fee for the off-Rio member. In this way, it caused a stampede of members in this category.

In the 2021 election, opposition candidate Walter Monteiro tried for months to get the club to commit to complying with the change in the Pelé Law. Without success , he went to court and ended up obtaining an injunction to guarantee remote voting. However, Flamengo appealed, claiming that it was unable to comply with the decision without delaying the elections and that in-person voting was the “supposed right of one or a few members”.

Flamengo ended up managing to overturn the injunction and the election took place. Monteiro, who finished third in the election, decided not to appeal the decision with the promise made by the president of the Deliberative Council, Antônio Alcides, an ally of Landim, that he would guide the inclusion of remote voting in the statute in the following year.

However, the topic was only analyzed by the Deliberative Council in 2023. Even so, it did not even go to plenary, because the Statute Committee, appointed by Alcides, concluded that remote voting contradicted one of the club's main objectives, which is holding face-to-face meetings.

Carlinhos' performance in the last classic between Flamengoand Vasco, played on Sunday, has generated a wave of criticism and questions from the red and black fans. The striker, who entered the field in the 18th minute of the second half, replacing Bruno Henrique, played a discreet role and ended up failing to help the team in one of the most decisive moments of the match.

The classic, as always, was a game intense and highly anticipated by both fans, with great weight for the championship table and the morale of the teams. However, Carlinhos' entry, which lasted just 27 minutes, was considered below expectations, especially in a scenario where Flamengo was looking for a victory to distance itself from its rivals.

During the 27 minutes he was on the field, Carlinhos barely appeared, failing to influence the game as expected. The player only touched the ball a few times, did not create clear scoring chances and also did not help efficiently in the defensive system. With an apathetic performance, the striker ended up becoming a target of frustration for the fans, who expected more from a player who, at other times, had already demonstrated the potential to be decisive.

The lack of offensive participation was a of the main points raised by critics. In a game that required creativity and boldness to break through the Vasco blockade, Carlinhos was unable to find spaces or impose his presence as a constant threat to the opponent's goal. In classics, where every detail makes a difference, this lack of protagonism weighed even more.

The replacement of Bruno Henrique by Carlinhoswas also a factor that generated discussion. Bruno Henrique, although he was not having a brilliant performance, is a player recognized for his ability to decide games, especially in big confrontations. His departure 18 minutes into the second half was justified by the coaching staff as part of the planning to spare the athlete, who recently returned from injury.

After taking charge of Flamengo, Tite, former coach of the Brazilian national team, made it clear that he is quickly adapting to the club's culture. In recent statements, he highlighted Rubro-Negro's striking characteristic: the incessant search for all possible titles. According to the coach, this spirit of intense competition is something that he not only admires, but is also incorporating into his own work philosophy.

Tite, known for his meticulous and results-focused work, revealed that the Transition to Flamengo involves constant learning, especially in relation to the club's winning mentality. "Flamengo has this culture of fighting for every title. There is no focus on just one competition, the goal is to win everything within reach", he explained.

THE COACH WANTS A COMPETITIVE STYLE

This characteristic is notable in Flamengoin recent years, which has won several important competitions, such as the Brazilian Championship and the Copa Libertadores. Tite, accustomed to pressure and the need for results, states that this mentality is something he is adopting in his day-to-day life at the club. “I see this culture, and this is what we are doing. Flamengo has this requirement, and I am a coach who likes this type of challenge.”

Although Tite has an established career, with successful spells at clubs such as Corinthians and the Brazilian national team, Flamengo represents a new experience for the coach. He is now at the helm of a team that has traditionally had fans calling for victories in every competition they compete in, something he sees as a positive challenge.

"You have to learn every day Even with the experience I have, here I realize that there are very high expectations, but at the same time that's what makes you grow", commented the coach. For him, working at a club that maintains such a high level of demand motivates him to always seek the best.

President of Flamengo between 2013 and 2018, Eduardo Bandeira de Melloreturned to talking about the club's elections, which take place at the end of this year. A guest on “Rema TV”, in Porto Velho, Bandeira was adamant in saying that he will only be a candidate if he is “indispensable”, but revealed his desire to participate in another role.

In an interview that aired on the channel from “Rema TV” on Youtube, Eduardo Bandeira de Mello showed confidence in his victory political group in the elections: “My political group will participate in the Flamengo elections and I think they will win. I don’t intend to be the candidate for president, only if that is essential,” he said, before completing.

“I think I’ve already made my contribution. Yes, I want to participate in the next administration, but in some strategic role. The work at Flamengo and the work we did there is not individual work, no one does anything alone. It's a group effort, and our group will come back. I'm sure everything will work out”, he said.

Flamengo's elections will take place in December this year, but the candidates have not yet been defined. After two terms, the current president, Rodolfo Landim, will not be able to run, and everything indicates that he will support Rodrigo Dunshee de Abranches. Luiz Eduardo Baptista, known as Bap, should also run for office.

Federal Deputy for Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Bandeira de Mello was asked about the conciliation between football and politics. The deputy, who divides his time between Brasília and Rio de Janeiro, said that he cannot go to Maracanã as often as he would like, but was firm in saying that he can combine both things.

“It's definitely manageable. Of course, I miss the Maracanã games on Wednesdays, because on Wednesdays I'm always there in the Chamber, there's a session, there's an agenda, so I can't just be at Maracanã. on the weekends. But Brasília is a very friendly city, I really like it, and I've already discovered all the main spots we have there to watch Flamengo's games.”
