With Flamengo in contention, Kevin De Bruyne criticizes the new format of the FIFA Club World Cup

Former goalkeeper Bruno Fernandes, who gained national prominence when playing for Flamengoand was convicted of the murder of Eliza Samudio , now works as a furniture delivery man. At 39 years old, Bruno was seen performing his new role in Rio das Ostras, a city on the coast of Rio de Janeiro. The information was released by CNN Brasil.

The revelation of Bruno's new occupation was made by the "Rio das Ostras 24 hora" profile on Instagram. A video published on the platform shows the former player unloading furniture from a truck in the city center. He would be working for a furniture company that also operates in Cabo Frio and Macaé, other locations on the coast of Rio de Janeiro.

In 2023, Bruno had already released videos on social media promoting a furniture company, which indicated his approach to this new field of activity.

Bruno was sentenced to 22 years in prison in 2010 for the crimes of murder and concealment of corpse of Eliza Samudio, in addition to the kidnapping of her son Bruninho. At the time, he was a goalkeeper for Mais Querido, and his arrest interrupted a career that was on the rise. Bruno became Brazilian champion in 2009 and, in 2010, he was in advanced negotiations to move to Milan, in Italy.

Created by Flamengo and considered one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, Lucas Paquetá does not hide his love for Mais Querido. Now, the player tries to pass on this red-black passion to the next generation. Thus, the athlete appeared in a video on social media teaching his son to sing the Mengo anthem.

In images published on social media by Lucas Paquetá's wife, which were reposted by the athlete, he appears at a moment relaxing with his family and helping his son sing the Flamengo anthem, even joking: “you have to sing it all”.

It is worth remembering that Lucas Paquetá was one of the names desired by the Red and Black board in the last transfer window. The midfielder is linked to West Ham (ING), but is experiencing a turbulent situation in England. This is because the midfielder is being investigated by the English Federation (FA) for "misconduct in relation to betting" in four Premier League matches.

Thus, Mais Querido even tried to convince the English team that a change of scenery would be positive for the player. However, West Ham did not accept the values ​​proposed by Flamengo and the negotiation did not progress.

Most Querido is focused on the confrontation against Peñarol, in the Libertadores quarter-finals. Therefore, Flamengo faces the Uruguayans this Thursday (19), at 7pm, at Maracanã.

Flamengo showed interest in signing midfielder Lucas Paquetá, currently at West Ham and the Brazilian national team. However, the negotiation faces significant challenges, as Paquetá is about to be tried in England for alleged involvement in sports betting manipulation. The possibility of a severe punishment, including a possible ban from the sport, makes its future uncertain.

According to information from GE, West Ham has set a condition to begin negotiations: it does not accept a loan, only a definitive sale. The English club considers that there is a great possibility that Paquetá will be punished and, therefore, prefers to sell the player before any court decision.

This represents a significant turnaround, considering that Manchester City were recently interested in signing the player for a high fee, but withdrew after investigations began. Mais Querido counts on the desire of the player who wants to return "home and breathe", to help with an immediate return. 

FLAMENGO STRATEGY

Flamengo is exploring all legal possibilities to allow Paquetá to operate in Brazil, even if he is punished in England. The idea is to use loopholes and legal resources to ensure that the player can continue playing until a final decision is made. However, this strategy has an expiration date, as the English FA could ask FIFA for the punishment to be extended to the entire world, which would complicate the situation.
