John Textor, majority partner of SAF do Botafogo, once again accused Palmeiras of having benefited from arbitration in recent years. Without presenting evidence, the North American claimed to have "heavy evidence, 100% confirmed" about the case.

According to the businessman, the São Paulo club that was champion of the Brasileirão last season, has been " helped" for at least two seasons.

- Last year was turbulent. I'm not going to let what happened last year go unchecked. We are in a new season to come. We have heavy evidence, 100% confirmed, that Palmeiras has been benefiting from result manipulation for at least two seasons. Sorry if this is going to create noise, but I have proof, I'll send it to the prosecutors. I'm here to defend the honor of my club. The players have to play, the fans have to cheer. But this is a fight, and we are together. You can be sure that no one will touch our matches this year. I promise you - he said, in an interview with "Canal do Medeiros".

In 2023, Alviverde was Brazilian champion and surpassed Flamengo's rival in the table, which had a 14 point advantage over the São Paulo team . Previously, in 2022, Verdão also won the tournament.

Textor began his "battle" against Palmeiras when Botafogo was defeated 4-3, in an upset, in the last edition of the Brasileirão. He defined the match as "robbery", accused him of corruption and asked for the resignation of the president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), Ednaldo Rodrigues. The statements culminated in his suspension for 30 days.

Last Wednesday (4), Flamengo held the seventh edition of the Sangue Rubro-negro campaign, at the Gávea headquarters. Hemorio's partner team was at the Gávea headquarters, from 10am to 3pm, collecting blood in the playground's party room. Athletes, employees and associates were able to donate and make a difference: each bag of blood can save up to four lives.

In addition to encouraging blood donation, the campaign also sought to raise awareness about the importance of this act of generosity and how it can save lives. “The partnership with Flamengo Social Responsibility is very important. More than attracting donors, this action seeks to awaken civic and social sentiment, ensure greater dissemination and demystify fears. It is an extremely educational and important action for maintaining stocks”, declared Dr. Renata de Almeida, a Hemorio doctor present at the action.

Blood donation is essential for health units to continue serving patients undergoing treatments and surgeries. The only way to guarantee the blood supply is through voluntary donations.

To donate blood, you must have an official identification document with photo, original or certified copy; be between 16 and 69 years old; be fed and in good health; weigh more than 50 kg; not be pregnant or breastfeeding. For more information about donating blood, visit www.hemorio.rj.gov.br or call 0800 282 0708. Hemorio is located at Rua Frei Caneca, nº 8, in the center of Rio. Donate blood, donate life!

After speeches by the president of Flamengo, Rodolfo Landim, the owner of SAF do Botafogo, John Textor, the Rubro-Negro leader continues to retort. The owner of Botafogo used a post from “Portal Botafoguense”, on Instagram, in which it compares the amounts spent by Flamengo and its club in each sector.
