On an unrecognizable night, FlaBasquete lost to Corinthians by 90 to 73 this Tuesday (13), at Tijuca Tênis Clubes, in the second game of the NBB quarterfinals. This defeat means a tie in the playoff series and the need to return to the rival's home.

After a balanced first four games, Rubro-Negro suffered a major drop in performance both in attack and defense. The result was a Corinthians team that managed to easily open up an advantage on the scoreboard and had a difference of over 20 points during the game. In the end, a small improvement was not enough to try to react.

Just like what happened in the series against Caxias do Sul, FlaBasquete was unable to impose its superiority on the court and suffered yet another "darkening" in the competition . This victory by Corinthians guarantees that Game 4 will be held in São Paulo. In other words, Fla needs to win Game 3 to avoid being one game away from elimination.

Flamengo and Corinthians will face each other again this Thursday (15), at 6:30 pm, at the TTC gym.

SUMMARY

First half

The first quarter was marked by two teams looking for a lot of three-point shots . Still without a pivot, since Gallizzi and Ruan Miranda are injured, Fla adopted the strategy to avoid fights in the paint. But it was Corinthians that did slightly better and, with one more successful shot, won the first quarter by 26 to 22.

The red-and-black team, however, had an unrecognizable second period. Disorganized on both sides of the court and making a lot of mistakes, FlaBasquete saw its rival open up a 10-point lead and went into the break losing 38 to 48.

Second half

The return from the break did not change this scenario, quite the opposite . Flamengo continued with their poor performance and managed an even worse performance in the third period. They only had four shots on target in the entire period and, without a defensive fit, saw Corinthians open up a 20-point lead: 72 to 52.

The improvement in the last period, also related to Corinthians' drop in rhythm, was not even close to being enough to recover on the scoreboard. Thus, Rubro-Negro lost by 90 to 73.
