World football has a new record holder for consecutive victories. This Tuesday, Al-Hilal beat Al-Ittihad 2-0, reaching the impressive mark of 28 consecutive victories in official matches. This number surpasses the previous mark by one, which since 2016 belonged to The New Saints, from Wales.
The goals of the match, held in Jeddah, were scored by Al-Shahrani and the Brazilian Malcom. In addition to breaking the record, the team led by Jorge Jesus also secured their place in the semi-finals of the Asian Champions League, where they will face Al-Ain.
Al-Hilal's winning streak began at the end of September. Among the highlights are the 3-0 victory over Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo's team, at home, in early December, and the recent triumphs over Al-Ittihad, Benzema's team: a 3-1 in the Saudi Championship and a 2-0 in the first match of the quarter-finals of the Asian Champions League, both also at home.
