Conmebol is studying ways to innovate in competitions and one of them is to get closer to the United States. Directors of the South American entity are interested in the growth of Major League Soccer (MLS) and seek to take advantage of the 'Messi factor'.
According to information disclosed by the portal "Coluna do Fla", Conmebol will schedule two meetings with Concacaf still this semester to discuss how best to put the idea into practice. The entity's goal is to have some competition involving clubs from the United States.
That's because the growth of Major League Soccer (MLS) with players like Lionel Messi, from Inter Miami (USA), has drawn the attention of Conmebol. With that, the subject will be addressed, but without haste for the hammer to be beaten.
It is worth noting that, for 2024, the Libertadores of America dispute will basically be in the same format as the current edition, that is, no Americans or Mexicans. Current champion of the tournament, including Flamengo, takes the field to face Olimpia (PAR), this Thursday (10).
The game between Flamengo and Olimpia will be valid for the second leg of the round of 16 Libertadores final. The confrontation will take place from 9 pm (Brasília time), at the Defensores del Chaco Stadium, in Paraguay.

Former goalkeeper Bruno Fernandes, who gained national prominence when playing for Flamengoand was convicted of the murder of Eliza Samudio , now works as a furniture delivery man. At 39 years old, Bruno was seen performing his new role in Rio das Ostras, a city on the coast of Rio de Janeiro. The information was released by CNN Brasil.
The revelation of Bruno's new occupation was made by the "Rio das Ostras 24 hora" profile on Instagram. A video published on the platform shows the former player unloading furniture from a truck in the city center. He would be working for a furniture company that also operates in Cabo Frio and Macaé, other locations on the coast of Rio de Janeiro.
In 2023, Bruno had already released videos on social media promoting a furniture company, which indicated his approach to this new field of activity.
Bruno was sentenced to 22 years in prison in 2010 for the crimes of murder and concealment of corpse of Eliza Samudio, in addition to the kidnapping of her son Bruninho. At the time, he was a goalkeeper for Mais Querido, and his arrest interrupted a career that was on the rise. Bruno became Brazilian champion in 2009 and, in 2010, he was in advanced negotiations to move to Milan, in Italy.
