Sérgio Hernández, also known as Oveja, is doing a good job leading FlaBasquete . He was the champion of the Champions League of the Americas , and now he is looking for the NBB title. But he wants much more than titles. The FlaBasquete coach participated in MengoCast, Mengão's official podcast on FlamengoTV. In an interview with presenter João Guilherme, Oveja gave a powerful and rare speech in high-performance sports .

WORDS FROM THE COACH

Sérgio Hernández wants to be remembered forever at Flamengo as a coach who left a legacy , with ethics, identity and a strong work culture.

"Of course, I would like to leave more things here. That's logical. But the dream has to be bigger than that. I know this is controversial, but there are bigger things than winning. Leaving a culture. Leaving... Contributing to the culture of Flamengo, of work, of habits, of discipline, of identity" , begins the coach.

Sergio Hernández doesn't want to be remembered just as a one-title coach

He is already a champion and can achieve much more. But Sergio Hernández wants to be remembered for the style of work implemented at the club.

"When we remember Sergio Hernández, we remember something... We don't remember, 'ah, you are the champion of such and such tournament'. No, I remember that Sergio Hernández worked like that. He has this work culture, he taught such and such. He leaves a different legacy. Because that is temporary. But a legacy of work culture and also of behavior culture, of ethics, for me is more important than any trophy" , says Oveja.

Despite this, the coach guarantees that he also wants titles and will do everything to win as many as he can.

"But I don't like to lose, so... I'll want to put more things there. But the truth is that it's more important that people remember me as a person and as a professional who helped Flamengo improve than as a guy who won a World Cup," he concludes. See the full interview below.
