The first phase of Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) is approaching its end. In this way, Flamengo remains focused on finishing in the top positions of the table tournament classification. To achieve success, the 'Pride of the Nation' counts on two consecutive home games to open up an advantage at the top of the championship.

Flamengo's first game as home team takes place this Tuesday (26) against Paulistano. The match will be played at 8pm (Brasília time), at Maracanãzinho. On Thursday (28), Mengão enters the court again to face São Paulo, in the same place, however, at 9pm (Brasília time).

So far, Flamengo has played in 30 games, totaling 25 and five defeats. In this scenario, ‘Pride of the Nation’ has 55 points, the same number as Franca. However, as they got the better of the São Paulo team in the last round of the NBB, Rubro-Negro is the leader of the national championship.

Next, Minas, Vasco, Bauru and Unifacisa appear on Flamengo's heels. Therefore, the sequence of games at Maracanãzinho will be crucial for Mengão to score points in the competition and, with this, try to gain an advantage in the leadership of the NBB.

Tickets for these two matches are now available on the official website of the Mengão. For For tomorrow's match (26), tickets vary between R$120 and R$40 for the general public. Buy your tickets aqui!

Gallizzi is a revelation from the Unión Progresista base and was a silver medalist at the Copa América in 2015. However, he won the gold at the Pan American Games in Lima, in 2019, in Peru.

In addition to Tayavek Gallizzi, Flamengo is also close to signing an American winger: Shaq Johnson, who played in the Minas in Brazilian basketball. Rubro-Negro is experiencing its first season without its idol Olivinha. The former pivot retired from the courts in June and received a beautiful tribute from Fla.

However, nothing can erase the shine that Olivinha brought to the history of Flabasquete. Among the main achievements are: two Intercontinental Cups (2014 and 2022), one Champions League Americas (2020-21), one League of the Americas (2014) and six Brazilian Championships (2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015 -16, 2018-19 and 2020-21).

The Argentine winger Martín Cuello will not continue at Flamengo. The player announced that his intention is to return to the Argentine National League or compete in the Uruguayan League, where he already played for Club Malvin in 2021.

Cuello, who is known by his nickname "Loku", arrived at Flamengo had high expectations, but his time at the Brazilian club was relatively short. With the red and black shirt, Cuello had good moments, but was unable to establish himself as one of the team's main players. The decision not to continue at Flamengo seems to be more related to his personal plans and the search for new opportunities in his career.

FLAMENGO IS RESCUED

Martín Cuello arrived at Flamengo as a promising reinforcement . The player, 1.92m tall, is known for his versatility on the court and ability to play both wing and point guard positions. His experience in South American leagues, including his time at Club Malvin in Uruguay, led to the expectation that he could add value to the Flamengo squad.

During his stay at Flamengo, Cuello participated in several competitions, including the NBB (New Basketball Brazil). However, he failed to stand out consistently and ended up not having the impact expected by the board and fans. Despite this, Cuello demonstrated professionalism and dedication, characteristics that are valued in the sporting world.
