Two young talents revealed by Flamengo shone in Europe this Saturday (14). Goalkeeper Kauã Santos made his Bundesliga debut for Eintracht Frankfurt, helping the team to a 2-1 victory over Wolfsburg. Kauã entered the field after the experienced Kevin Trapp was injured at the end of the first half. Meanwhile, defender Léo Duarte scored his first goal in European football, securing Basaksehir's 1-0 victory over Bodrum in the Turkish league.

Kauã Santos, who arrived at Flamengo at the age of 16, he never played for the Rio club's main team. After standing out in the youth categories, the goalkeeper caught the attention of Eintracht Frankfurt, who invested R$8.4 million for 70% of his economic rights. On his debut, Kauã was unable to save a penalty taken by Baku, but held off Wolfsburg's pressure, helping to maintain his team's victory.

In turn, Léo Duarte, Copinha champion, rose to Flamengo professionals in 2016 and, little by little, established himself as a starter. In 2018, Milan, from Italy, spent 11 million euros to sign him. After a discreet spell at the Italian club, Léo transferred to Basaksehir, where he finally scored for the first time in Europe.

Léo Duarte and Kauã Santos' moment in Europe

Léo Duarte's Basaksehir occupies third place in the Turkish league with 10 points, just two less than leader Galatasaray. Kauã Santos' Eintracht Frankfurt is in sixth place in the Bundesliga, with six points, three behind leaders Bayern Munich.

Flamengo was one of the Serie A clubs approached by Sergio Ramos' representatives, in an attempt to bring the experienced defender Spanish to the Brazilian Championship. However, the Rio club demonstrated a lack of interest in the business, a stance similar to that adopted by Corinthians, Vasco and Botafogo, who were also approached by the player's agents.

According to information from the UOL portal, Flamengo chose not to move forward with negotiations due to the high financial investment required to hire Sergio Ramos.

Although the player has been without a club since ending his contract with Sevilla, where he received an annual salary of 2.3 million euros (around R$1.1 million per month), the costs involved in the payment of gloves and salaries continued to be an obstacle for the club's management.

PROMINENT CAREER AND SEARCH FOR NEW CLUB< /p>

Sergio Ramos is widely recognized as a Real Madrid legend and was also a world champion with Spain in 2010. After leaving Sevilla, the 37-year-old defender is looking for a new club. According to sources, Ramos' representatives had already tried to negotiate with teams from Qatar and Saudi Arabia, but without success, which motivated the search for an opportunity in Brazil.

< p>OTHER CLUBS ALSO REFUSE PROPOSAL

In addition to Flamengo, other prominent teams in Brazilian football, such as Corinthians, Vasco and Botafogo, were also approached by Ramos' businessmen. However, none of these clubs showed interest in moving forward in negotiations, mainly due to the high price requested to bring the defender to the country.
