Portuguesa took an important step in its restructuring by officializing the transition to a Sociedade Anônima do Futebol< /b> (SAF), guaranteeing a billion-dollar investment for the coming years. As part of the plan to strengthen and build a new brand in Brazilian football, the São Paulo club announced this Monday (16) the hiring of Sérgio Guerreiro, former director of Flamengo.
New director of youth categories
Sérgio Guerreiro, who has had remarkable spells at clubs such as Atlético-MG, São Paulo and Flamengo, takes on the role of director of youth categories at Lusa. During his career, the manager stood out for evaluating more than 40 thousand athletes, contributing to the development of talent in all the clubs he passed through.
Sérgio Guerreiro's official presentation will take place this Tuesday morning (17), in the CT of Parque Ecológico do Tietê, right after the main team training. The event will also mark the announcement of the first reinforcements for the next season.

Restructuring and scenery of Portuguesa
Portuguesa, which had been facing financial and sporting difficulties, has been without a national division since 2024. However, it secured a place in theSeries Dfrom 2025through state competitions.
With the approval of the SAF project, the club is preparing for an investment that could reach an impressive R$ 2 billion , which promises to propel Lusa to a new level on the national sporting scene.
