Cristiano Ronaldo, who was speculated to join Flamengo , lifted another trophy with the Portuguese National Team this Sunday (8), beating Spain on penalties and winning the UEFA Nations League. After the title, the Portuguese star spoke about the future and was direct in confirming that he will continue in Saudi football .

“Nothing will change. Of course I will continue at Al-Nassr ,” Cristiano Ronaldo said in the mixed zone after the decision. With this, the number 7 remains the main star of the Saudi team for the next season and keeps alive the dream of participating in his seventh World Cup in 2026.


INVITATIONS TO THE CLUB WORLD CUP

Before the final between Portugal and Spain, the striker also revealed that he had been approached by clubs interested in counting on his football in the Club World Cup , which will be played between June and July. However, despite the offers, the star signaled that he will not participate in the competition.


“There were a lot of contacts, things that I see that make sense, others that don’t. As the other guy says: you can’t go to everything. You have to think about the short, medium and long term. Cristiano Ronaldo 's contract with Al-Nassr runs until the end of June. Following his public statement, the expectation is that his contract with the Saudi club will be extended for at least one more season . The official announcement of the renewal is expected to take place in the coming days.

Flamengo faces Vasco on September 21st , at 5:30 pm, at Maracanã, in a match valid for the 24th round of the Brazilian Championship . This will be the fifth meeting between the rivals in 2025. In the Campeonato Carioca, the Mais Querido won all three duels, 2-0 in the initial phase, 1-0 and 2-1 in the semifinals.

Currently, only tickets for Maracanã Mais are available, costing R$500.00 (half R$287.50) for the general public.

FLAMENGO HAS AN IMPORTANT WEEK

The red-and-black team is coming off a victory over Juventude, which ended a 28-year drought away from home. Now, the focus is divided between the Libertadores and the Brasileirão . On Thursday (18), Mengão faces Estudiantes at Maracanã, in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the continental competition. Three days later, they face Vasco in another decisive classic.

The training schedule at CT George Helal includes activities on Tuesday (16/09) at 9:30 am, Wednesday (17/09) at 3:30 pm, Friday (19/09) at 3:30 pm and Saturday (20/09) at 9:30 am. There will be no activities on Monday (15/09).
