Despite having their first offer rejected by West Ham, Manchester City have not given up on their bid to acquire the services of Lucas Paquetá. However, coach Pep Guardiola has shown a reserved stance on the matter. During the press conference held on Friday (10), which precedes the team's debut in the Premier League, Guardiola chose not to address the interest in the midfielder previously linked to Flamengo.
Guardiola succinctly explained his approach : "I'm here to discuss Kyle Walker, I won't comment on Paquetá as he is linked with West Ham". The coach was referring to the English player who had received a proposal from Bayern Munich, but was persuaded to stay at Manchester City.
The question had been about what qualities the coach saw in Paquetá to want him to be signed. According to the British press, the Brazilian would replace Gündogan, who went to Barcelona.
Manchester City's interest in Paquetá is evident and the English do not seem willing to give up that possibility. After the purchase was rejected for an amount of 81 million euros (approximately 432 million reais at current quotations), the team came up with a new offer this Thursday (10): 102 million euros, equivalent to more than half a billion of reais (544 million reais, at the current exchange rate).
If the transfer between Manchester City and West Ham goes through, Flamengo could expect an approximate amount of R$ 27.2 million as part of of its share in the player's economic rights.

Two young talents revealed by Flamengo shone in Europe this Saturday (14). Goalkeeper Kauã Santos made his Bundesliga debut for Eintracht Frankfurt, helping the team to a 2-1 victory over Wolfsburg. Kauã entered the field after the experienced Kevin Trapp was injured at the end of the first half. Meanwhile, defender Léo Duarte scored his first goal in European football, securing Basaksehir's 1-0 victory over Bodrum in the Turkish league.
Kauã Santos, who arrived at Flamengo at the age of 16, he never played for the Rio club's main team. After standing out in the youth categories, the goalkeeper caught the attention of Eintracht Frankfurt, who invested R$8.4 million for 70% of his economic rights. On his debut, Kauã was unable to save a penalty taken by Baku, but held off Wolfsburg's pressure, helping to maintain his team's victory.
