Léo Lins, a comedian who was sentenced to eight years and three months in prison for making offensive speeches against different social groups, returned to perform in public. He returned last Thursday, June 19, at the Teatro Gazeta in São Paulo. The show was sold out: 720 people showed up to watch the show.
According to the newspaper O Globo , the comedian commented during his presentation on some of the lawsuits that led to his conviction . One of them was filed by Preta Gil, who was the target of offensive jokes in 2019. At the time, Léo Lins compared her to a “pig”. On stage, he spoke again about the episode in a provocative way:
“Preta Gil sued me because of a joke from years ago. Three months after the lawsuit was filed, she was diagnosed with cancer. Well, it seems that God has a favorite. I think he liked the joke. And at least she will lose weight.”
The screening continued under strict measures: the audience's cell phones were sealed at the beginning of the session , as instructed by the comedian's lawyers, with the aim of preventing further leaks of content.
Léo Lins ' conviction originated from a video of the show “Perturbador”, recorded in 2022. In the material, he made jokes aimed at various groups, including black people, indigenous people, Jews, homosexuals, obese people, the elderly, evangelicals , people with HIV and with disabilities.
The club is accused of using "Clube da Esquina nº 2" without authorization in the advertisement for the number 9, in a video published on social media in January 2025

Singer Milton Nascimento and record label Sony Music filed a lawsuit against Cruzeiro Esporte Clube, alleging the improper use of the song "Clube da Esquina nº 2". The work, written by Milton, Lô Borges and Márcio Borges , was allegedly used without authorization in a video posted on the club's social media in January 2025, during the announcement of Gabigol's signing from Flamengo.
According to information published by the newspaper O Globo, the video was produced and released by Cruzeiro without the proper authorization of the artists involved in the song's creation . Sony Music , which represents the copyright of the work, is seeking compensation for material damages, while Milton Nascimento and the Borges brothers are seeking compensation for moral damages.
The court order stipulates a sum of R$50,000 for each of the songwriters involved . Despite the good relationship between the artist and the Minas Gerais club in the recent past, the lawsuit remains ongoing due to the dispute between the parties.
In 2022, after announcing his retirement from the stage at the age of 80, Milton Nascimento was honored by Cruzeiro at a concert held at the Mineirão stadium in Belo Horizonte. On the occasion, the singer received a personalized jersey from the team and a letter describing him as " Cruzeiro's international ambassador ."
The lawsuit highlights the importance of respecting copyright when using musical works, especially in advertising materials and highly visible social media content . Despite the history of tributes, the composers claim that the lack of formal consent for the use of the song violates their rights and compromises the recognition of the intellectual property involved.

Despite not stepping on the court in recent weeks, João Fonseca reached another significant milestone in his career. The 18-year-old rose to 47th place in the ATP rankings , released this Monday (22). The improvement in the ranking came after Marcos Giron, from the United States, dropped 11 places.
This is the best finish of Fonseca 's career, and he continues to break records. He became the 12th Brazilian in history to enter the top 50 since the beginning of the Open Era in 1968. Now, he also debuts among the ten highest-ranked Brazilian tennis players of all time, occupying 10th place , surpassing Cássio Motta, who was 48th in the world in 1986.
João Fonseca hasn't played since July 4th, when he was eliminated by Nicolás Jarry in the third round of Wimbledon. Now, he's preparing for his next match: the Toronto Masters 1000, which will take place from July 27th to August 7th . The tournament is the first major hard-court event of the North American season and serves as a tune-up for the US Open at the end of August.
This year's Toronto Masters will have significant absences. Names like Jannik Sinner , Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, and Jack Draper have already announced they will not participate in the tournament, prioritizing rest after the intense sequence between Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

Oruam turned himself in to the police last Tuesday (22) after having an arrest warrant issued by the Court. Thus, this Wednesday (23), the rapper's fiancée, Fernanda Valença, spoke on her Instagram about the reaction of her father-in-law, Marcinho VP. The influencer highlighted that the singer's father "is not happy" with the indictment.
Oruam's bride talks about Marcinho VP's opinion: "Contrary to what many people think, my father-in-law is not happy about any of this news."
She continued: "He and my mother-in-law fought tirelessly throughout their lives for their children to change the family's destiny. However, this never stopped the constant psychological torments they faced over time ," she wrote in an excerpt.
Fernanda further reinforces MC Poze's idea by saying that the agents' intention was to "destabilize" Oruam: "At all costs, they persecute, threaten, make jokes and adopt an aggressive posture until they get what they want, which is to destabilize Mauro so that he reacts exactly the way they always criticize or point out ," she declared.
Hours before presenting himself to authorities, Oruam posted a video on social media: "I'm going to turn myself in, guys. I'm not a criminal, okay? I'm sorry to everyone I wronged, if you thought I was wrong. I'm going to bounce back and win through my music ."
The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Ane Cristine Scheele Santos. Oruam will be charged with drug trafficking, association with drug trafficking, resistance, contempt, damage, threats, and bodily harm.
