Emirates airline has brought forward the transfer of the body of Brazilian Juliana Marins , who died after falling from a cliff while hiking on Mount Rinjani, Indonesia , to Tuesday, July 1. Juliana will be laid to rest and buried in her hometown, Niterói, in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

In a statement, the company said that “in coordination with the family, new arrangements have been made for the transportation of the body of Juliana Marins, a Brazilian citizen who passed away in Indonesia. The body will arrive in São Paulo on July 1. Emirates extends its deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time.”

FAMILY MANAGES TO ANTICIPATE THE ARRIVAL OF THE BODY

Initially, Juliana 's body was only scheduled to arrive in Brazil on Wednesday, the 2nd. However, after strong mobilization on social media by the family , the process was expedited. In addition, the relatives filed a request in court for a new autopsy to be performed in Brazil, with the aim of clarifying the cause, conditions and time of death.

Juliana Marins fell from a drop formed by the volcano's crater on June 21 , while hiking on Mount Rinjani , located on Lombok Island. Rescue teams were only able to access the site four days later, when she had already been found dead.

AUTOPSY IN INDONESIA SHOWS DEATH

According to the preliminary report prepared by Indonesian authorities, the cause of death was internal bleeding caused by the impact of one of the falls. Initially, the Brazilian woman was spotted about 300 meters from the edge of the cliff , but her body was found 600 meters away.
