Still in debt to Flamengo , Internacional announced last week the signing of right-back Alan Benítez, the new reinforcement for the team from Rio Grande do Sul for the rest of the season. Thus, in a press conference, the player projected the match against Mais Querido in the round of 16 of the Libertadores.
Alan Benítez previews game against Flamengo: "Football is collective, it doesn't depend on just one player".
He continued: "I'm here to contribute everything I can here, but all my teammates have to want that too. I think we're all up to the task of what Inter is, of the club's history. We're going to do our best to try to get past Flamengo ," said Alan Benítez at his presentation this Friday (4).
So, before thinking about Internacional , in the coming weeks, Flamengo will face a marathon of games in the Brasileirão. The sequence starts on the 12th, against São Paulo, at Maracanã. Soon after, Mais Querido will face Santos, with the location still to be defined. On the 20th, Mengo will play the classic against Fluminense.
Thus, the Flamengo squad begins preparations for the match against São Paulo, on July 12, at 4:30 pm, at Maracanã. The match will be valid for the Brazilian Championship, where Mais Querido is the current leader, with 24 points.
The former player of Mais Querido sent a message to his fans and recalled the reaction of the red-black fans when he was suspended

After talking about his decision to leave Flamengo , striker Gabigol received good news last Friday (4). The player was acquitted by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) of the accusation of cheating on a doping test when he was still playing for Rubro-Negro. With that, the player used social media to vent and recalled the reaction of the Mais Querido fans and his fans.
“Justice was served. But the wound remains. These were almost two of the most difficult years of my life, when I was unjustly accused, accused of something I never did. No prohibited substance was found, but they still wanted to punish me for an alleged “attitude”. I saw my character being questioned, my word being discredited, my family suffering, my fans divided.
I carried the burden of being seen as guilty before I was even tried. I experienced the pain of seeing potential new paths closed and young people who look up to me confused about who I really am. CAS today acknowledged the obvious: that there was no fraud, that there was no tampering.
Justice for justice is not persecution. I hope that my case serves as a reflection so that no athlete, or anyone else, ever goes through what my family and I went through. I leave this process with my head held high, but with the certainty that I will never forget those who walked with me. The truth always prevails! ”
It is worth remembering that Gabigol was punished in March 2024, after being accused of trying to cheat on a doping test. Amidst the confusion, the player managed to be released to train with the squad the following month and returned to the field in the game against Amazonas.
However, Gabigol was only able to get rid of the accusations once and for all this Friday (4). Thus, the former Flamengo player remains free and unpunished from any other FIFA measure related to punishment for attempted doping fraud.
