Sprinter Paulo André left for the Paris Olympics, but not before saying goodbye to Brazil. On Tuesday night (23), the athlete shared a post on social media explaining his journey towards the sporting event.
Paulo André informed that, before arriving in Paris, he and his team will do a stop in Lisbon. "We are going to stay in Lisbon for around 4 or 5 days and then go to the Olympic Village. But, from here, our journey begins and may God bless us a lot and may we be able to represent our Brazil very well. Let's go up!", wrote the athlete.
During the sequence of stories on On Instagram, Paulo André showed the warm reception he received from the plane's crew, including influencer Diogo Defante, who was on the same flight. The sprinter was applauded by the passengers, and showed emotion and excitement with people's reactions.
"Embarking for the journey called the Olympic Games! May God bless us", he wrote in the caption of a carousel of photos, recording the beginning of his journey.
Paulo André's post was quickly filled with supportive comments, both from anonymous and famous people. Names such as Gabriel David, Felipe Andreoli, football player Léo Pereira, and athletes Ana Claudia Lemos Silva and Raquel Santiago left messages of encouragement. "God bless PA. “I had bowel cancer that I treated, I was cured of it, I was completely cleared by doctors to pursue a life close to normal. I was doing very well in my rehabilitation and I have periodic tests to be done while I am in remission. Remission is a five-year period in which the cancer can return. My cancer came back.”
The artist said that she received the new diagnosis during routine examinations and that she began chemotherapy treatment immediately. She was admitted to Hospital Sírio-Libanês, in São Paulo.
