On June 7th, Friday, Rebecca presents her latest single to the public, entitled “Piça Nova”, available on the main digital platforms. The song, which addresses the routine of favelas and highlights the daily lives of their residents, is accompanied by a music video recorded in a community in Rio, different from the one in which the artist grew up.
With this launch, Rebecca seeks to deconstruct stereotypes regarding living in communities and the people who live in them. In a statement, the singer emphasizes the importance of valuing favela culture and highlighting its contributions to society: “Everything I have done is to highlight the importance of our culture, value the best we have and show how great we are in everything we produce.”
In the music video, Rebecca is seen close to armed people, which raises questions about the sensitive approach adopted by the artist. She explains that she took care to humanize the characters and portray the scenes in a realistic way, showing how these situations are part of everyday life in communities.
Rebecca highlights that the Communities should not be reduced to just negative stereotypes: “Word of mouth is dangerous, people talk about a territory without even having lived inside a favela. Crime exists, yes, but that’s not all.” The singer emphasizes that experiences in favelas are diverse and should not be generalized: “I want to deconstruct this negative image that has been placed on us and especially on the place where we live.”

Singer MC Ryan SP began to face the consequences of his recent negative exposure, after a video was released on social media in which he appears attacking his ex-partner, influencer Giovanna Roque. On Friday night (27), the company responsible for advising the artist, Caldi Comunicações, announced that it no longer works with him. Furthermore, the Maringá Folia festival, which takes place in Paraná, canceled MC Ryan's show, which was scheduled for Saturday (28).
According to a statement released by Maringá Folia on social media, as soon as the information about the case came to light, the event organizers contacted the singer's production team to cancel his participation. To date, Caldi Comunicações has not provided further details about the end of the partnership with the artist.
The video, recorded by security cameras in the then couple's home, shows an episode of domestic violence that allegedly occurred in April this year. The images were leaked onto the internet, causing a strong repercussion. After their rapprochement in June, MC Ryan and Giovanna Roque had announced the definitive end of their relationship two weeks ago.
Even with the shocking images circulating on the web, Giovanna came out in defense of her ex-partner in a statement, stating: "Ryan is not the bad person you think he is."
In response to the case, singer MC Ryan SP admitted to having assaulted Giovanna and acknowledged the error. Speaking to the LeoDias portal, the artist confirmed the facts, but asked that the video not be released to avoid further damage to his career. "I know I made a mistake", said the singer.
The consequences of the domestic violence case have already begun to directly affect MC Ryan's career, with loss of contracts, cancellation of shows and growing negative repercussions on social media and in the media.
