Flamengo will have a busy week in the NBB , with two state classics in a row. This Thursday (27), the team faces Vasco , at 8 pm , at Maracanãzinho, in a match broadcast by SporTV and FlaTV+. On Saturday (29), the challenge will be against Botafogo , at 4 pm, at Ginásio Oscar Zelaya, in General Severiano, with broadcast by FlamengoTV.

Great duels are expected, in which the Pride of the Nation has an impressive recent record. Flamengo also has a very favorable history against Botafogo. The red-and-black team has not lost to its rival from General Severiano since 2019, when it eliminated the black-and-whites in the playoffs by 3 games to 1, advancing towards the title of that season. In the last edition of the tournament, the dominance continued, with Flamengo once again beating Botafogo in the knockout phase, this time in the round of 16, with a 2-0 series sweep.

Coach Sergio Hernandez will play his first derby in charge of the red-black team and highlighted the importance of these games and the preparation of the squad for the challenges.

"Clássicos like these are always very important. The team knows that for the fans, the derby is a different game, the atmosphere is more special. We have to concentrate like any other game and stay optimistic. We will play with all our energy. I have played more than 30 derbies in my life, I played many derbies against River when I was at Boca. I played for Argentina and Brazil many times for the national team. These are very special games. Our responsibility is to play with a lot of passion, with a lot of concentration and energy. We will try to bring joy to the Flamengo fans" , said the coach.

Ticket sales for the derby between Flamengo and Vasco are still open. Flamengo fans can guarantee their presence at the duel by visiting the official website: ingressos.flamengo.com.br or in person at Maracanã Ticket Office 2, from 5 pm to 8 pm.

In addition to its NBB commitments, Flamengo is keeping an eye on the Champions League Americas (BCLA). Already guaranteed a spot in the Final Four, the club is awaiting the definition of the venue for the tournament, which will take place on April 19 and 20. In the semifinals, the opponent will be Franca. Boca Jrs and Instituto Córdoba, from Argentina, complete the final four.

FlaBasquete, the current Champions League Americas champion, begins its quest for a third world championship this Thursday (18). With titles won in 2014 and 2022, the red-black team arrives at the 2025/26 season with the clear objective of repeating the feat in Singapore and consolidating itself as a global basketball powerhouse.

To achieve this goal, Flamengo formed a revamped squad, blending experienced players with promising young talents who embody the club's winning DNA. Argentine coach Sérgio Hernández, known as "Oveja," took over the team midway through last season and has already won the Champions League Americas.

STRATEGIC REINFORCEMENTS

FlaBasquete invested heavily to strengthen its roster. Among the reinforcements are Daniel Onwenu (formerly of Corinthians), Argentine Franco Baralle (formerly of Pinheiros), Wesley Castro, and Eric Buckner . The arrival of Dee Bost, an American point guard who became a naturalized Bulgarian, was a response to Baralle's injury, as he suffered an accident and will be out for the season.

With experience and versatility, Bost arrives to be a leader in decisive moments . Despite the departures of key players like Franco Balbi and Gallizzi, expectations are high for the team's performance at the World Cup.

SINGAPORE PREMIERE

Flamengo makes its World Cup debut this Thursday (18), at 6 am (Brasília time), facing the NBA G-League United team, from the United States. The match will be broadcast on Flamengo TV .
