The good news for Mais Queridois that the coach of the Saudi club, Matthias Jaisse, would be willing to release the player, according to information from the local portal 'Al-Youm'.
Matthias Jaisse plans to renew the squad
Al-Ahli's German coach plans to reformulate the team with new foreign reinforcements, which would make it viable for Firmino. Among the names that the coach prioritizes to form the attack are the Algerian Riyad Mahrez, the Englishman Ivan Toney and the Saudi Firas Al-Braikan. With this, Firmino could become more accessible for Flamengo, if talks progress.
Firmino in Flamengo's sights
With a contract until June 2026 at Al-Ahli, Roberto Firmino, aged 33, has already demonstrated his quality to the world wearing the Liverpool shirt, where he won, among other titles, the Champions League. Now, he is emerging as one of the main targets of the new Flamengo board, led by Luiz Eduardo Baptista (Bap).
Technical director José Boto works closely with coach Filipe Luís to analyze the budget available to hire a striker. Before any move, Flamengo will seek to understand Firmino's interest in returning to Brazil b>, also considering financial issues, given the current budgetary restriction scenario.
Replacing Gabigol: Flamengo's challenge
The departure of Gabigol, one of the club's greatest recent idols, creates a significant challenge for Flamengo. Firmino, with his international experience and ability to make important decisions, is seen as a strong option to lead the red and black attack in 2025. The next few weeks promise to be decisive for the progress of the negotiations.

With an uncompromising stance on the market for both player arrivals and departures, José Boto opened up and revealed Flamengo's priorities in the transfer window that opens next month. It is worth remembering that the Rubro-Negro raised a considerable amount with its participation in the Club World Cup.
In an interview with GE, José Boto revealed that Flamengo is looking for a midfielder and a winger in the market. Rubro-Negro wants a player who can alternate with Arrascaeta and a "dribbler" striker , who can open up defenses.
José Boto talks about priorities in the market: "There are two positions that we want to strengthen, one because we think there is a lack of a different type of player".
He continued: " And the other, as you have already said, and I have already said publicly, is someone who takes turns with Arrascaeta , so that he doesn't have to play so many games and is always in his best condition," said Boto before adding:
"These are two positions that we have priority in bringing, but without any great rush or need to make mistakes, to do it hastily. Because what we have done so far shows that we are doing well ," he highlighted.
Flamengo seems to have already found Arrascaeta 's replacement. This is because the Mais Querido is negotiating with Jorge Carrascal , a Colombian midfielder who belongs to Dynamo Moscow (RUS). Thus, with the Rubro-Negro's elimination from the Club World Cup, José Boto will intensify talks to close a deal with the player for the rest of the season.

Flamengo was eliminated by Bayern Munich in the Club World Cup, but according to Fábio Luciano, the red-and-black team's performance was far from being a match of absolute dominance by the Germans, as many predicted. The expectation was that Flamengo would suffer with the intensity and volume of play characteristic of the Bavarian team.
Fábio Luciano on Flamengo x Bayern: "It wasn't a broad dominance"
For Fábio Luciano, despite the adverse score, Flamengo had moments of control in the match, as did Bayern. The former defender highlighted that the goals conceded by Rubro-Negro happened precisely when the team was better on the field , which highlights decisive individual errors.
" They weren't production goals. At times, Bayern had control , Bayern pressed up, but Flamengo managed to control. In the best moments that Flamengo, for example, had in the game, Bayern scored their goals, from individual errors," said Fábio Luciano.
Even with the elimination, Flamengo leaves with morale due to its offensive and combative stance against one of the world's football powers. According to Fábio Luciano, the Rubro-Negro showed that, unlike other South American clubs, it does not shy away from European opponents.
"It wasn't a broad dominance, where Bayern suffocated Flamengo and, like, ah, at any moment the goal will come. I think the goals came at moments that perhaps Flamengo didn't expect to concede," he added.
Statistical data confirm the balance:
The German team's coach said that the level of the game was like any other in the major European leagues, where he highlighted that the red-black squad is good.

Flamengo and Bayern Munich had a great match last Sunday (29), where the German team got the better of the team and eliminated the Mais Querido from the Club World Cup. After the match, coach Vincent Kompany praised the performance of the Rubro-Negro and said that Mengo did not present a level very different from the games that the Germans play in Europe.
Kompany praises Flamengo's performance: "We played against a top team today".
He continued: " It didn't feel too different to the games we play when we face the toughest games in Europe ," Kompany said, as he looked ahead to the clash against Flamengo.
Soon after, the Bayern coach said that his team put pressure on Flamengo's ball exit, which is very good, making it difficult for them to remain dangerous.
"Even though I have a lot of experience as a player, I've never played in that atmosphere very often. I was worried after twenty minutes. It was a competitive game. I think we had a moment where we defended with a low line. The way we conceded the penalty was unnecessary. But whenever we managed to put good pressure on their ball, which they have quality, they are very good at. The key was that we always remained dangerous in attack. I think that was the key. We could have scored at any time ," Kompany highlighted.
Despite being eliminated, Flamengo managed to demonstrate some of the quality of its squad. After being 2-0 down on the scoreboard, the Mais Querido continued to try to reduce the score. Among the attempts, Mengo caused trouble and scored twice, with Gerson and Jorginho.
Now, Flamengo will only return to the field in the week of July 13, when they face São Paulo, in the Brasileirão. In the meantime, the red-black squad will enjoy a few days of vacation before returning to activities.
