0Adriano Imperador, legend of Flamengo, gave an interview to ‘Canal Ser Flamengo’, where he addressed topics such as his times as a striker in Rubro-negro, in the Brazilian National Team and even his presence in the new Museum of the club. During the conversation, the former player vented about having retired early, in addition to claiming to miss the times on the field.
“Wearing the shirt, entering the stadium, being able to score a goal. That's something we can't forget. But unfortunately I stopped too soon. It was my decision, it was a decision I wanted. I really saw that I didn't want to go on anymore, not because I lost the passion, but because I wasn't feeling very well. I decided to close it too early, but I miss it. That's what I miss, representing the shirt and the fans”, he revealed.
With two spells at the club, Adriano Imperador made history with the sacred mantle. Revealed at the base of Flamengo, the former player had two phases at the club. The first was from 2000 to 2001, when he was twice champion in Rio and scored 11 goals in 44 matches. After that period, the former striker went on to venture into Italian football.
In 2009, Adriano returns to Mais Querido and wins titles such as the sixth title of the Brasileirão. The former athlete remained at the club until 2010, and added another 34 goals and 10 assists in his 48 matches played. Imperador retired at the age of 35, in 2016.
Flamengo and Coritiba face each other for the 20th round of the Brasileirão. The confrontation takes place this Sunday (20), at 4 pm (Brasília time), at Couto Pereira Stadium.
The teams play the first game of the quarterfinals at 7 p.m.

De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.
Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. "The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the athlete Gabriel Barbosa underwent tests that did not diagnose an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."

0Former player Adriano, known as Imperador, officially announced that he will say goodbye to the pitch on December 15th, in a special friendly match at Maracanã. The match will be attended by former teammates from two of the most notable clubs of his career: Flamengo and Inter Milan. At 42 years old, Adriano will wear both shirts, playing time for each team.
< In an interview, Adriano commented on the importance of this moment for him and his fans. "A lot of people asked me to say goodbye. Despite having stopped a few years ago, I needed this match to finish my cycle. I owed it to everyone who supported and still supports me", said the former player.Revealed by Mais Querido, Adriano played 94 games and scored 46 goals in his two spells at the club. In the first, in 2000, he helped Mengão win their second Rio championship and the Champions Cup. Upon his return to Brazil, in 2009, he was a key player in winning the Brazilian Championship.
At Inter Milan, Adriano consolidated his international career. Between 2001 and 2009, there were 177 matches and 74 goals, in addition to seven important titles, including four Italian championships and two Italian Cups. His performance in Italy earned him the nickname "Emperor", which accompanied him for the rest of his football career. b>
Adriano has not played professionally since 2016, when he played two games for Miami United, in the United States. Before that, the striker had spells at clubs such as Athletico-PR and Corinthians, but without repeating the success of his times at Inter and Flamengo. In recent years, the former player participated in charity events, such as the Zico Star Game and Futebol Solidário, which raised funds for victims of the floods in Rio Grande do Sul.
Adriano's farewell will be organized by the company MTR7, in partnership with MCAsport and the firm Diogo Souza Advogados. The former striker will be the host of the event, responsible for inviting and calling up the players who will participate in the friendly. The event promises to be a milestone in the history of Brazilian football, celebrating the career of one of the great idols of CRF and Inter Milan.
