0Flamengo is a great showcase for Europe, not only for renowned professional players but also for the youth team. In this way, Rubro-Negro anticipated renewing and increasing the termination fine on Joshua's contract, an athlete considered a jewel of the under-17s.
The young man has been monitored by European teams since he was little. For standing out in Mais Querido in the Copa Rio U-17, the midfielder caught the attention of some clubs. Therefore, Flamengo did not want to waste time and renewed the athlete, increasing the termination fine to 70 million euros (R$ 426 million) with a contract until 2029.
Joshua signed a new contract with Flamengo this past Tuesday (17). Thus, the young midfielder already has his second professional contract with Rubro-Negro. Before this happened, the player was champion with the Most Wanted of the Copa Rio under-17 against Vasco.
Making the title of jewel worth it, Joshua was once again decisive for Rubro-Negro. This is because, with the match approaching the end, the midfielder took responsibility and scored Mais Querido's second goal, leaving the score in favor at 2 to 1.
Throughout his time in Mais Querido's youth categories, Joshua has scored more than 100 goals. In the last under-17 match, the midfielder scored against Vasco on two occasions and, in addition, provided an assist. The number 10 was also chosen as the competition's top scorer.
