Rodrigo Caio remains free on the ball market. The defender, one of the most successful in Brazilian football in recent years, has been without a club since leaving Flamengo. Now, reverberating the defender's situation, journalist Jorge Nicola revealed that Rodrigo Caio received official proposals from two Brazilian football Series A clubs. The names were not revealed. The amounts offered, however, were much lower than the salary received during Flamengo's time. Things didn't go well and the defender still has an undefined future.
Rodrigo Caio was hired by Flamengo after more than a decade from São Paulo, the club for which he became a professional and won the Copa Sudamericana in 2012 . At Rubro-Negro, the defender soon fell into the nation's favor, becoming one of the main highlights of that historic team led by the Portuguese Jorge Jesus.
“I ended a very important cycle in my career, in which I was very happy. Now, in 2024, we have to wait, wait for what will be best, with a lot of patience, a lot of calm to make the best decision. I am sure that this new objective, this new cycle that will begin in 2024, will be as special as it was in the five years I had with Flamengo”, said the former Fla shirt number 3, back in December.

This Sunday (12) Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), called an extraordinary meeting of the Brasileirão's technical council, with the presence of Flamengo, with the aim of discussing the suspension of the championship due to the Rains in South.
The meeting will take place on May 27th and will be attended by representatives from Flamengo and the other 19 clubs in Série A of the Brasileirão. Among the issues to be discussed are the status of registration and transfer of athletes, legal issues related to access to disputes in international competitions such as Libertadores, Sul-Americana and Club World Cup, for example.
Others Issues should still be the center of debate among club representatives, such as Brasileirão broadcasting rights and sponsorship contracts. It is worth remembering that Flamengo is the team that receives the most financial sums from TV quotas and such a stoppage could affect the club's monetary issues.
The CBF has postponed all matches involving teams from Rio Grande do Sul in national competitions, whether as home or away teams. Among the postponed matches is the game between Flamengo and Grêmio, which would be held at Maracanã on May 26th.
On May 9th, the Minister of Sports, André Fufuca, issued an official note defending the suspension of the Brasileirão. It is important to emphasize that the CBF previously consulted the clubs about a possible strike, but the majority of them, including Flamengo, were against it at that time.
“It is time to concentrate efforts on supporting the victims, on rebuilding the affected areas and mitigating the impacts caused by the tragedy. The human dimension needs to come before the sporting dimension. The biggest concern is with the physical and psychological integrity of the athletes, fans and others involved”, declared the minister.

The board wants to speed up negotiations to have the player in the next transfer window, which opens on July 10th. The fourth round of the Libertadores group stage came to an end this Thursday (09). With the game postponed, only Grêmio among the Brazilian teams did not enter the field. Of the six, five won and only Flamengo was defeated this week in the continental competition.
Atlético-MG, Botafogo, São Paulo, Palmeiras and Fluminense achieved victory in their matches. In this way, Flamengo's defeat to Palestino 'tainted' the record of Brazilian teams in the fourth round of the Libertadores group stage.
