The Consumer Protection and Defense Secretariat of João Pessoa ( Procon-JP ) notified , this Thursday (17), Botafogo-PB for suspected abusive practices in ticket prices for the match against Flamengo , scheduled for May 1st, at the Almeidão Stadium, for the third phase of the Copa do Brasil .
The most affordable price for the match will be R$150 — half-price tickets for the shaded stands for Botafogo-PB fans. The red-and-blacks, who will occupy the general section, will find tickets for R$400 (full price) and R$200 (half price). For seats, prices reach R$500 (full price) and R$250 (half price), again with differences between the fan groups.
According to the municipal secretary of Procon-JP, Junior Pires , the notification requires the club to present the amounts charged in previous matches of the Copa do Brasil. The idea is to make a comparison with the match against Flamengo and, if a disproportionate increase is proven, the directors will have to justify the reasons.
"There was a big increase, so they need to justify why . There was an increase in cost, because the disparity is very big. The price is free, but they also can't take advantage of an event to be able to increase the price of a ticket. That's already abusive," said Junior Pires.
The disparity becomes even more evident when compared to the prices from the first phase of the competition. In the match against Concórdia-SC , the cheapest ticket cost R$30 in the Arquibancada Leste Sol sector — the same section that will now be reserved for Flamengo fans and where tickets will cost R$400. An increase of up to 1,233%.
Not even the home fans escaped the price increases. In the shaded stands, prices rose from R$60 to R$300 — an increase of 400% . In the seats, prices jumped from R$120 to R$500, an increase of 316% .
The first batch of tickets will be available from next Monday (21). Until then, only Botafogo-PB fan members will be able to request their tickets for free , depending on the membership plan.

Despite his short career as a professional coach, Filipe Luís continues to attract attention from around the world for his work at Flamengo. Last week, Fenerbahçe (TUR) attempted to sign him , but both the Rio de Janeiro club and the manager rejected the offer .
José Boto on Fenerbahçe's proposal for Flamengo's Filipe Luís: "this is not a bank"
In an interview with UOL, football director José Boto revealed the behind-the-scenes story behind the Turkish move: "Last week, he had the option of leaving the club. I know this because the president of Fenerbahçe called me asking how much money Flamengo wanted to release Filipe Luís . I replied that this isn't a bank. We had no intention of selling him. The club even offered more than the contractual fine, but he didn't want to go. He didn't want to abandon this project."
With negotiations unsuccessful, Fenerbahçe looked at other options. After José Mourinho's departure on August 29, the Turkish club explored several options, including Filipe Luís , but ultimately agreed on Domenico Tedesco last week . Thus, the red-and-black fans can breathe a sigh of relief at the prospect of a new European push.
Filipe Luís is about to complete a year in charge of Flamengo . The coach took over the team on September 30, 2024, after Tite's dismissal, and has since collected titles: Copa do Brasil, Campeonato Carioca, and Supercopa do Brasil . The coach has played 65 games, with 43 wins, 16 draws, and only six losses, consolidating one of the club's most consistent campaigns in recent years.
Flamengo, under the command of Filipe Luís, begins this Thursday (18) the dispute of the quarterfinals of the Libertadores against Estudiantes (ARG) . The match takes place at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã, with broadcast by ESPN (closed TV) and Disney+ (streaming).
