On Sunday night (11), Flamengo beat Hebraica Macabi in the Champions League of the Americas and secured a place in the quarter-finals of the competition. However, Mais Querido had already met their opponent in the quarterfinals on Saturday night (10), after beating Boca Juniors.

In this way, Orgulho da Nação will face Obras Sanitarias, from Argentina, in the knockout phase of the competition. The Argentine team finished the group stage in second place in group D, with four wins and two defeats. This is because only Sesi Franca, from Brazil, managed to beat the team in two of the three clashes: 118 to 94 and 94 to 87.

GRUPO DO FLAMENGO

O Mais Querido has arrived in the Champions League of the Americas packed. On Saturday (10), Rubro Negro scored 87-79 against Boca Juniors, in Argentina, and reached three consecutive victories in the competition. Therefore, Pride of the Nation took first place in Group C. This Sunday (11), Flamengo also beat Hebraica Macabi, from Uruguay, 111 to 76.

With the opponent already defined in the knockout stages of the Champions League of the Americas, Flamengo will prepare for the clash. Thus, the series will feature three games, between March 4th and 11th, and whoever wins two wins will advance to the BCLA Final Four. The last decisive phase is scheduled to be in April.

In their second international friendly played in Spain, the Pride of the Nation showed the power of reaction and beat Básquet Coruña 90 to 89, this Friday afternoon (6), in Granada. 1st QuarterThe first quarter started very evenly, with the teams exchanging points. During the period, Básquet Coruña managed to open a small advantage. The Pride of the Nation cut the difference to four points, but in the final minutes the home team grew in the match again and closed the match at 27 to 17.

2nd QuarterIn the second quarter, the home team continued to score, and Flamengo tried to close the gap. Gui Deodato and Balbi managed to convert a triple ball each to keep the Pride of the Nation in the game. From the dead zone, Jhonatan Luz also hit for three. At the beginning of the last quarter, Básquet Coruña once again led the score by one point. In attack, Jordan Williams swung over the mark and converted from the perimeter. With that, Mengão regained the advantage on the scoreboard. The duel remained balanced until the end, and Pride of the Nation secured victory by one point: 90 to 89.

Flamengo continues its preparation for another intense basketball season. This Friday (06), Rubro-Negro will face Baskét La Coruña (ESP) at 3pm (Brasília time), for the second match of the pre-season. The game will be held at Pabellón Ciudad Deportiva Diputación de Granada, in Spain.

It is worth remembering that the training period of Flamengo in Spain started on September 2nd and will last until the 12th. The broadcast of the match has not yet been confirmed, due to the lack of technical guarantees from the hosts. Coach Gustavo de Conti should repeat the same quintet from his debut.


Probable starting quintet: Alexey Borges, Shaq Johnson, Gui Deodato, Lucas Siewert and Taya Gallizzi.

In the pre-season debut, Flamengo was defeated by UCAM Murcia (ESP) by 75 to 73, in a balanced game at the Pabellón Polideportivo José Ortega Chumilla gym, in Yecla.

With the departure of Didi Louzada, ex-NBA , Flamengo reinforced the squad with wingers Lucas Siewert, formerly of São Paulo, and Kayo Gonçalves, who returns to club. Rubro-Negro also confirmed the return of Jhonatan Luz, one of the most successful players in NBB history. Additionally, the team announced the signings of Jordan Williams, Shaq Johnson and Alexey Borges. One of the club's greatest idols, Olivinha, ended his career last season.

The Flamengo has four more friendlies scheduled. After this Friday's game, the next challenge will be against Granada (ESP) on Sunday (08), and the pre-season will end with the clash against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (ESP) on Tuesday (10).< /p>
