Flamengo returned to winning ways in the Brazilian Championship by beating Bahia 1-0 this Saturday (10), at Maracanã, in the eighth round. The winning goal was scored by Giorgian De Arrascaeta , who is in great form and is approaching his highest scoring season with the Manto Sagrado.
In 2025, the number 10 has already scored ten goals , being just eight goals away from equaling his best mark for the club, registered in 2019, with 18 goals .
Arrascaeta has been involved in ten goals in Flamengo's last seven games in the Brasileirão — seven goals and three assists, confirming the Uruguayan's leading role in the red-black campaign. The Uruguayan also scored the Mais Querido's last goal in the Libertadores , in a 1-1 draw with Central Córdoba.
With seven goals in the championship, Arrascaeta is the top scorer in the 2025 Brasileirão, followed by Vegetti (Vasco), who has five. The Uruguayan is also the second-placed assist maker , with three assists — just one less than Alan Patrick (Internacional).
Despite the good phase, the negotiations for the renewal of Arrascaeta's contract, whose contract runs until December 2026 , are at a standstill . Flamengo's board decided to postpone the negotiations, prioritizing other renewals, such as those of Rossi, Varela and Pedro. The number 10's agent, Daniel Fonseca, even presented a proposal for a renewal with a salary increase until 2028 , but the club refused at the time.
Now, Flamengo turns its focus to the Copa Libertadores . The next challenge will be against LDU (EQU), next Thursday (15), at 9:30 pm, at Maracanã, for the fifth round of the group stage.

The Frenchman scored a hat-trick, reaching five goals in the competition and taking over the Champions League's top scorer.
Besides the Frenchman, Camavinga and Brahim also found the net, completing the Spanish team's thrashing. With the victory, Real Madrid now has six points from two rounds , provisionally taking the lead in the group, while Kairat remains pointless and sits last.
Vini Jr. started the match as Real Madrid's Champions League captain, but had a lackluster performance and missed a clear chance in the first half. The Brazilian gave way to Rodrygo midway through the second half , while Mbappé led the attack.
