The Flamengo brand continues to be well known around the world and has aroused the interest of several athletes, one of them being the NBA star, Jimmy Butler, from the Miami Heat (USA). The star of the competition confirmed his desire to defend the Sacred Mantle before retiring.

"The Miami Heat jersey will be the last one I wear in the NBA, that's for sure. But after that, I really want to play for Flamengo. I tell everyone that I'm half Brazilian", said Jimmy Butler, this Wednesday (08).

JIMMY'S CAREER

Even though he hasn't won the NBA title at least once, Jimmy Butler is one of the main players in the North American basketball league. He is considered an "All-Star" and has been called up for the All-Star Game frequently, the last opportunities being in 2020 and 2022. The 34-year-old shooting guard was already champion of the Olympic Games in 2016, in Rio de Janeiro, with the United States.

Jimmy began his career with the Chicago Bulls (USA), where he remained until 2017, when he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves (USA). Soon after, the player played for the Philadelphia 76ers (USA), before arriving at the Miami Heat.

CURRENT SEASON

In the current season, Jimmy averaged 20.8 points, five rebounds and five assists, in addition to 49% shooting on the court. Thus, the shooting guard was one of those responsible for the Miami Heat's campaign to advance to the NBA playoffs.

HIGH SALARY

To be able to play for Flamengo, Jimmy Butler would have to drastically reduce your salary. This is because the NBA star receives 45.1 million dollars (R$ 230 million at current prices) per season in the current franchise. The player still has two more years on his contract, in which he will receive 48.7 million (R$ 247 million) and 52.4 million (R$ 275 million in 2024/25 and 2025/26.

The serious injury that sidelined Pedro of the 2024 season made the Flamengo board consider the possibility of hiring a free replacement on the market. Find out what the deadlines are for Mais Querido to register players. No team can sign players linked to other clubs, not even in the Brazilian market. Furthermore, the player in question must have become a free agent by September 2, when the transfer window closed. Any termination after this date prevents the athlete from playing in 2024.

With this in mind, see below the deadlines for signing up reinforcements in the three competitions that Flamengo competes in until the end of the season. The information was first released by 'GE'.

To play in the Copa do Brasil, Brasileirão and Libertadores

If Flamengo regularizes a reinforcement by the 9th of September, he will be able to be registered in the three competitions. In the Copa do Brasil, the player will only be able to enter from the semi-final onwards, if Flamengo advances, as the quarter-finals are in progress. The deadline for registration is September 9th.

To play in the Libertadores quarter-finals, the reinforcement would have to be one of the three allowed exchanges, competing with players such as Alcaraz, Alex Sandro, Gonzalo Plata and the injured Michael. Changes must be made by September 13th. In the Brasileirão, the reinforcement can be registered until September 20th. Each club has the right to make up to eight changes in the 50 players that must be registered by September 9th.

Signing after September 9th

If Flamengo If you sign the player after September 9th, he will automatically be excluded from the Copa do Brasil, but will still be able to play in other competitions. In this scenario, the rules for playing the quarter-finals of the Libertadores and the Brasileirão follow the same deadlines of September 13th and 20th, respectively.

Signing after September 13th /p>

If the reinforcement is hired after this date, he will be left out of both the Copa do Brasil and the Libertadores quarter-finals. However, he could still be registered in the continental tournament, if Flamengo advances to the semi-finals, and in the Brasileirão. In the Libertadores, teams that reach the semi-finals can make their last three player changes until October 18th, Conmebol's deadline. Signing after September 20th

If the reinforcement arrives after this date, he will not be able to be registered for the Copa do Brasil or the Brasileirão. All that would remain is the possibility of playing in the Libertadores, if Flamengo reaches the semifinals, respecting the deadline of October 18th. If Flamengo wins the Libertadores, the reinforcement could still be registered for the Club World Cup in December.
