Botafogo is close to closing a deal for the offensive sector . The club is in advanced negotiations with striker Arthur Cabral , currently at Benfica and who has already been speculated at Flamengo , and sees the Brazilian as the ideal name to replace Igor Jesus, who should be sold to Nottingham Forest, in England.
The black and white proposal is around 15 million euros (approximately R$ 100 million at the current exchange rate) , an amount considered competitive given the player's appreciation in the European market. Arthur is 27 years old and has played in the Old Continent since 2018, with spells at Basel, Fiorentina and, currently, Benfica.
At the end of the 2024 season, the Portuguese press reported that Arthur Cabral would be on Flamengo 's radar for the next season. Since the arrival of Bruno Lage, the former Palmeiras player has been losing space in Benfica's squad and has only had opportunities in the starting team in cup matches, when the coach uses an alternative team, due to the priority given to the Champions League and the Portuguese League.
