The transfer window has not yet opened, but Flamengo has already started the search for reinforcements. The Rio club has already started negotiations with midfielder Walace, from Udinese, and hopes to have the player in the squad for the rest of the season. Currently, conversations revolve around salary, contract time and bonuses for goals achieved. Flamengo's board is optimistic about the agreement with Walace, as the player has already expressed interest in wearing the Sacred Mantle.

Firstly, Flamengo seeks to close an agreement with Walace before contacting Udinese . Only after resolving the procedures with the player, the Rio board will send a proposal to the Italian club to formalize the signing. The expectation is that with prior negotiation, the transaction with Udinese will be facilitated.

However, negotiation with Udinese is considered the most difficult part of the process. Walace is an absolute starter for the Italian team and has a contract until June 2026. Udinese has no interest in getting rid of the player, which could make conversations difficult. It is worth remembering that Flamengo has already tried to sign Walace on other occasions, but was unable to reach an agreement with the Italian club.

Flamengo's interest in Walace is not recent. The 29-year-old midfielder has already been a target of the club in other transfer windows. Now, the red and black board plans the player's arrival in the middle of the year. Udinese has already defined the value it wants for the athlete: 7 million euros, which is equivalent to R$40.3 million at the current price.

Currently on vacation in Brazil, Walace wants to return to Brazilian football, which can facilitate negotiations. Revealed by Grêmio, the midfielder has spent time at Hamburger SV and Hannover 96, in Germany, in addition to his current team, Udinese. With a contract until June 2026, Walace is expected to be an important reinforcement for Flamengo in the second half of this year.

On Saturday afternoon (28), Flamengo held its last training session before facing Athletico-PR in the Brasileirão. A clash that could decide the future of coach Tite at Mengão, was attended by all the players considered to be starters, despite the expectation of a mixed team for Sunday (29).

In content published on social media of Flamengo, names like Bruno Henrique and Alex Sandro, who were starters in the Libertadores elimination, last Thursday (26), appear alongside young fledglings, such as Matheus Gonçalves and Evertton, who have been widely used in the “reserve team ” by Tite.

Flamengo may have held the last training session under Tite's command.

With his destiny becoming more uncertain at Flamengo, Tite may having led his last training session as coach of Rubro-Negro. There are four games without a win, a bad result, or poorly presented football against Athletico-PR, could mean the end of the line for the coach, just under a year after his arrival.

In the semi-finals of Copa do Brasil, where they face Corinthians, and in the G4 of the Brasileirão, Rubro-Negro's objective is clear, to become CdB champion, and remain in the classification zone for the next Libertadores in the points championship.

Cruzeiro remains strong in the football market. After removing Corinthians idol Cássio and repatriating former Santos player Kaio Jorge, the team from Minas Gerais signed the midfielder Walace, who was at Udinese. The official announcement has not yet been made, but reports suggest that the SAF will pay around €7 million for the player. Interestingly, this is the same amount that Flamengo offered in 2022, but received a no from the Italians.

Revealed at Grêmio in the mid-2010s, Walace first went to Germany, playing for Hamburg, where stayed for three seasons. He has been at Udinese since the 2019/2020 season. In 2023/2024, he made 38 appearances and scored two goals. According to information from reporter Jaeci Carvalho, Cruzeiro will pay a fixed €6 million and another €1 million in goals. Corinthians were also after Walace.

Flamengo was interested in Walace in past windows, but always came up against Udinese's financial requests. The Italian club were intransigent in negotiations, wanting close to €10 million for the 29-year-old player. Apparently, the northern Italian club agreed to lower the request for Cruzeiro.

Flamengo jpa had a very strong start to the year. Rubro-Negro brought midfielder Nicolás de la Cruz for US$16 million, but also brought left-back Matías Viña (€8 million), defender Léo Ortiz (€7 million) and center forward Carlinhos (R$3, 2 mi). Therefore, you should not make large investments in the mid-year window, which opens on July 10th.

Before the 1-1 draw with Athletico-PR, on June 16th, at the Ligga Arena , vice-president of football Marcos Braz stated that Flamengo will only adjust the squad in the mid-year window. The manager did not reveal which positions are being monitored, but fans have been asking for a right-back, an attacking midfielder and a right-wing striker.
