Flamengo started the Tite era on the right foot, winning a 2-0 victory over Cruzeiro, on Thursday (19), during the 27th round of the Brasileirão. The confrontation took place at Mineirão and was marked by insults from the fans towards Ronaldo, owner of SAF da Raposa. The goals were scored in the first half, with Ayrton Lucas and Pedro, the latter converting a penalty.

The result leaves Cruzeiro in 14th place, one point behind Santos, which opens the relegation zone. The Minas Gerais team won just one of the last 12 games they played in the Brazilian Championship. While Flamengo reached 3rd place behind only Botafogo and Bragantino.

With Léo Pereira suspended, Tite chose David Luiz to form the defense with Fabrício Bruno in the match against Cruzeiro. However, the number 23 suffered an injury nine minutes into the second half and had to leave the Mineirão field visibly shaken. Bruno Henrique also felt it, but it was just cramps.

David Luiz's injury occurred when he sprained his right ankle alone after an aerial dispute with a Cruzeiro player. The defender fell to the pitch and immediately requested a substitution. Tite chose to send Pablo to the game in his place.

David Luiz had to leave the field on a stretcher, accompanied by Flamengo's medical team. His condition will be re-evaluated in the re-presentation, while his injury has left everyone worried about his physical state and availability for the next games.

Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm.
