Botafogo showed interest in signing the right-back Rodinei, ex-Flamengo, who plays for Olympiacos, from Greece. However, the Greek club did not even agree to talk to the black and white player to open negotiations for the player. The information comes from journalist Venê Casagrande.

According to Venê, the black and white board carried out a survey of the values for a possible negotiation, but the Greek team did not want to start conversations because they understand that the Brazilian is an important player in the season's dispute. Rodinei arrived at Olympiacos at the beginning of 2023. Despite having his best year with the red and black shirt in 2022, Mais Querido did not want to renew with the full-back who left for Europe for free.

For Olympiacos , Rodinei was a key player in winning the Conference League, UEFA's third club competition, in the 2023/24 season. The Brazilian was voted the best right-back in the Greek championship in 2022/23, even though he arrived in the middle of the season. On his debut in the local league this season, Rodinei scored against Volos, away from home, in a 2-0 victory.

By Flamengo, Rodinei played in 223 matches between 2016 and 2022, with a brief one-year spell in 2021 at Internacional. The full-back scored nine goals with the Sacred Mantle and was Brazilian champion, Copa do Brasil champion, two-time Libertadores champion and two-time Rio de Janeiro champion. He became a popular figure in Mais Querido due to his charisma that enchanted the fans. >

Two young talents revealed by Flamengo shone in Europe this Saturday (14). Goalkeeper Kauã Santos made his Bundesliga debut for Eintracht Frankfurt, helping the team to a 2-1 victory over Wolfsburg. Kauã entered the field after the experienced Kevin Trapp was injured at the end of the first half. Meanwhile, defender Léo Duarte scored his first goal in European football, securing Basaksehir's 1-0 victory over Bodrum in the Turkish league.

Kauã Santos, who arrived at Flamengo at the age of 16, he never played for the Rio club's main team. After standing out in the youth categories, the goalkeeper caught the attention of Eintracht Frankfurt, who invested R$8.4 million for 70% of his economic rights. On his debut, Kauã was unable to save a penalty taken by Baku, but held off Wolfsburg's pressure, helping to maintain his team's victory.

In turn, Léo Duarte, Copinha champion, rose to Flamengo professionals in 2016 and, little by little, established himself as a starter. In 2018, Milan, from Italy, spent 11 million euros to sign him. After a discreet spell at the Italian club, Léo transferred to Basaksehir, where he finally scored for the first time in Europe.

Léo Duarte and Kauã Santos' moment in Europe

Léo Duarte's Basaksehir occupies third place in the Turkish league with 10 points, just two less than leader Galatasaray. Kauã Santos' Eintracht Frankfurt is in sixth place in the Bundesliga, with six points, three behind leaders Bayern Munich.
