Marcos Braz once again came out in defense of Gabigol, serving suspension for non-compliance with anti-doping test rules, this Monday (08). In an interview upon arrival at the Carioca Championship's best players awards ceremony, Flamengo director highlighted that the number 10 has been taken care of closely by the club and defended him from possible injustice.
“ What I can say is that he (Gabigol) is being looked after like the idol he deserves, like the human being he deserves. And, in my personal opinion, with an injustice that is being done to him. He did a blood test, it was negative, he did a urine test, it was negative", he said.
"I think the sentence they gave him was a little disproportionate to what they could actually do to him. He is being looked after as an idol, as a human being and as an asset for Flamengo”, he added. The red-black football vice-president, asked about how Gabriel has been dealing with the problem, stated that he sees the athlete thinking about his actions.
“I think that when we go through turbulent moments in our lives, not only Gabriel , you do an analysis and bring up some thoughts that you could and should evaluate. I think that's what's happening to him," he said. "But once again, he did the urine and blood tests, they were negative, it's an injustice to him, the sentence wasn't assertive, and I think it will be this correction is made, and CAS will give him the right to enter the field immediately”, he added.
Finally, Braz reinforced the importance of trying to achieve a suspensive effect. “Everything that could be included in the processes was done.
