Bruno Cardoso comments on the possibility of retiring from the stage and making a living from music production

Bruno Cardoso, lead singer of Sorriso Maroto since 1997, also plays the role of music producer. During an interview with Holofote, when asked about the possibility of leaving the stage in the future to focus on other artists, the composer gave his answer:
"Once I was asked that question, and on that occasion I didn't know how to answer with complete precision . However, I can visualize myself acting in a diverse way. I believe that the role of a singer is something truly genuine, isn't it? The act of singing, it is deeply connected to the emotion of the moment, and I see it as something that I will continue doing throughout my life. Now, in the professional field, this is a result that stems from countless situations, and it is not possible to predict what tomorrow will bring", began the leader of the pagode group.
Right after , Bruno emphasized the value that the act of singing has in his trajectory: "For me, this is something that fulfills me, it is an essential part. I need the energy that the stage provides. Being beside my fellow musicians, the band , do Sorriso, in this exchange. This is vital to my energy and vitality, you know? It's something that keeps me moving".
On the other hand, music production manifests itself as an outlet for the artist: "However, as I am a creative person, always looking for new ideas and being restless , it's critical for me to channel those ideas, things that I appreciate and believe in. The field of music production is a way to give vent to these ideas, to create and materialize other things, to carry out different projects", he added.

Singer Preta Gil, who took time off from her activities to resume cancer treatment, is expected to return to command “TVZ”, produced by Multishow, on Monday (16). During the absence of Gilberto Gil's daughter, the attraction was managed by Gominho, during live exhibitions. On that occasion, she made some remote entries.
On August 25th, Preta published a video on social media saying that the disease, discovered last year, had manifested itself again in four different places on the body :
“I had bowel cancer that I treated, I was cured of it, I was completely cleared by doctors to pursue a life close to normal. I was doing very well in my rehabilitation and I have periodic tests to be done while I am in remission. Remission is a five-year period in which the cancer can return. My cancer came back.”
The artist said that she received the new diagnosis during routine examinations and that she began chemotherapy treatment immediately. She was admitted to Hospital Sírio-Libanês, in São Paulo.

One of the most important and beloved pagode groups in Brazil, Sorriso Maroto, emerged unpretentiously at a meeting of friends. With 27 years of experience, his songs have covered countless love stories for the country. However, the band's name was not the result of a meticulous choice, but rather a "mistake", as revealed by Bruno Cardoso and Sérgio Jr. in an interview with the Podpah podcast.
During the conversation, the members recalled how they arrived at the name Sorriso Maroto due to pressure and lack of better options at the time. "The name was a mistake, but it was the best we had at the time. It was another ride", explained Bruno. Sérgio added: "I didn't have a name or a place to play. That was it. It was just the will."
Before deciding on the name that would become iconic, other unusual options were considered by the group. "Sal Grosso" and "Cara de Gato" were some of the suggestions, but ended up being discarded. "That's when the cool ideas started. As we had a lot of barbecues, they said 'I think Sal Grosso is a cool name [...] Cat barbecue, cat face. The time has come and it's less worse than 'Sal Grosso' and 'Cara de Gato' was 'Sorriso Maroto'. We've been trying to find another one for 26 years", joked Sérgio.
Despite the unpretentious beginning and the improvised choice of name, Sorriso Maroto established itself as one of the biggest pagode groups in Brazil. His songs have become soundtracks for countless stories and continue to win fans across the country. The group's trajectory shows that, even with a simple beginning and without great pretensions, passion and dedication can lead to success and the creation of a legacy in Brazilian music.
