With just one vote against, the leader was acquitted

0Bruno Spindel was acquitted by Superior Court of Sports Justice(STJD) for criticism made against the refereeing and the CBF in the 1-1 draw with Bragantino on May 4th. In a practically unanimous vote, with only one vote against, the red-black leader escapes the 20-day sentence imposed by the court in the first trial.
Flamengo was successful in its appeal to acquit Spindel. The executive director was punished under article 258 §2º, II of the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice (CBJD), which talks about “disrespecting the members of the arbitration team, or disrespectfully complaining about their decisions” and provides for a sentence of 15 to 180 days. However, the STJD plenary understood that they represented more of a leader's outburst than disrespect.
And this was precisely the main argument of lawyer Michel Assef, who represented Flamengo and Spindel. He classified Spindel's demonstrations as complaints that do not fall outside the “leader's right to complain”. This understanding was the same as that of the case's rapporteur, Felipe Bevilacqua.
Flamengo left the game against Red Bull Bragantino angry with two moves in particular. First the annulment of Luan Cândido's expulsion and then an unmarked penalty on Luiz Araújo. Plays that made Bruno Spindel fire against the refereeing, VAR and CBF.
