Globo's return to Carioca

After five years, Globo will once again broadcast the Campeonato Carioca. The broadcaster had severed its relationship with the State in 2020, after an impasse involving Flamengo and the broadcast of matches on FlaTV. Since then, the rights have passed through broadcasters such as SBT, Record and Band.

Although Globo resumes broadcasting in 2025, Band will continue as Carioca's partner, maintaining the broadcast on open TV .

Flamengo debut at Cariocão 2025

The debut of Flamengo in the competition is scheduled for the 11th or 12th of January, against Boavista, in a location still to be determined. Rubro-Negro will use an alternative team for the clash, as the main squad will be in the United States carrying out pre-season from January 10th.
