O design of the 2025 calendar, with the Brasileirão starting earlier, in March, is something that the CBF wants to maintain in the coming years. The entity's idea is to establish as a standard the pause of the championship in the middle of the year, motivated by international club and national competitions.
In the coming years, the mid-year scenario has:
2025 - Club World Cup
< /b>
2026 - World Cup
2027 - Women's World Cup (in Brazil)
2028 - Copa América
2029 - Club World Cup
< p style="border: 1px solid rgb(197, 0, 24);">
2030 - World Cup p>
With this, the current management of the CBF understands that there is no way to fail to reproduce the solution found for 2025. Next year, the Brasileirão starts on March 29th, ends on December 21st and all of this made the state competitions squeeze in between January 12th and March 26th.
The CBF treated as relevant news the creation of a recess in the middle of the year and also a period of 14 days for interseason, allowing clubs to tour outside Brazil. Specifically regarding the competitions that generate the stoppage, the Club World Cup has four Brazilian clubs. Which makes the continuity of Series A unfeasible.
In the World Cup, national championships are also forced to stop, as is customary. In the Women's World Cup, the commitment lies with the CBF itself, as Brazil is the host country. The main stadiums will be at the service of FIFA and the CBF signed a document in which it undertakes to let the Women's Cup be the only competition taking place, so that there is no competition or diversion of focus.
In 2028, the Copa América returns, whose conflict with the Brasileirão caused damage in 2024, over nine rounds of the Brasileirão. In the following years, the Club World Cup and World Cup will replicate the scenario of the previous cycle at least until 2030.
In the political scenario, Ednaldo Rodrigues' current term at the head of the CBF ends in 2026. He can be re-elected for the period until 2030, which would facilitate the support plan for ideas for the calendar.

Estudiantes is already in Rio de Janeiro for the first leg of the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals against Flamengo , scheduled for Thursday (18), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã. The Argentine team trained at Fluminense's facilities , preparing for the decisive duel.
Coach Eduardo Domínguez tested a more conservative formation, including an extra defensive midfielder in midfield, as a strategy to contain Flamengo's attacks. According to Radio Província 1270 in La Plata, the change could result in only one striker on the field , demonstrating a more solid defensive posture.
Estudiantes ' likely lineup for the clash includes: Muslera; Gómez, Nuñez, Rodríguez, Arzamendia; Ascacibar, Piovi, Amondarain, Medina, Tiago Palacios; Carrillo.
It's not yet clear whether Piovi will play as an extra midfielder or be replaced by Castro . Amondarain, despite being an attacking midfielder, could drop back and act as a third midfielder, depending on Domínguez's strategy in recent training sessions.
With the prospect of a more closed Argentine team, Flamengo, under the command of Filipe Luís, will have to work hard to break down Estudiantes' defense and seek a positive result in the first leg of the Libertadores quarterfinals.
