The Brazilian Championship is just beginning, but at Ninho do Urubu, the focus is clear: to be champion. And for Everton Cebolinha, this goal goes beyond the club. It's personal. During his appearance on FlaTV's MengoCast, the number 11 was direct when talking about his ambition in 2025: to win the Brazilian Championship. "It's the only title missing from the shelf. Being Brazilian champion with Flamengo would be much more special," he declared.
At 29 years old, the striker joined the club in 2022, coming from Benfica, in Portugal, and since then has accumulated important titles, such as the Libertadores and the Copa do Brasil. But the Brasileirão has not yet come — and it has become a clear goal for the current season. This Sunday (4), at 6:30 pm, against Cruzeiro, at Mineirão, Cebolinha will be one of Filipe Luís 's main bets to maintain the leadership . With 14 points in six games, Flamengo leads the table, one point ahead of Palmeiras.
Cebolinha's personal projection for the year goes beyond collective trophies. According to the striker, his plans involve taking center stage. "Goals, assists and, who knows, returning to the national team. I was very happy with the Yellow Team and I want to experience that again." Cebolinha was part of the Brazilian team that won the 2019 Copa América, and was even named the best player in the final against Peru. Since then, he has not worn the Canarinho shirt again, but he sees 2025 as an opportunity to regain his place.
I told my agent: I'll only come back if it's to Flamengo. When the chance came up, I didn't think twice.” - said Cebolinha
It took some time to readapt to Brazilian football, as the player himself admits. “It was a difficult period at the beginning, especially due to physical issues. But today I feel completely adapted,” he said. With a sequence under Filipe Luís, Cebolinha found his place again. He has been directly involved in offensive plays and helping to keep the team competitive despite important absences in the last few rounds.
Everton Cebolinha 's absence in the decisive moments of 2023, due to injuries and instability, was part of the fans' frustration regarding that squad. In 2024, with greater consistency, he wants to show that he can also be decisive in the defining moments. The Flamengo of 2025 has, so far, shown consistency in the Brasileirão. There are four wins and two draws in six games. The defense is solid, the midfield has stabilized with Gerson and De La Cruz, and the attack, even without Pedro in the last games, has been productive.

Despite being signed only in the last transfer window, Saúl Ñíguez has already become one of the most important players in Flamengo's squad . The Spanish midfielder arrived at the club on a free transfer and quickly established himself in the starting lineup.
Spanish newspaper Marca highlighted the athlete's rapid adaptation. " The former Atlético de Madrid player arrived at Flamengo with the mission of becoming an important player and maintaining a prominent role in the starting lineup . His adaptation didn't take long," the publication reported.
According to the publication, Saúl is experiencing "a second youth" in Brazilian football and has already established himself as a key midfielder. Despite only registering one assist in eight games , he has played a more defensive role in Filipe Luís's team.
In the victory over Juventude, in the Brazilian Championship , Saúl started alongside Allan in midfield and provided the assist for Arrascaeta's goal in the 31st minute of the first half.
Flamengo returns to the field this Thursday (18), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time) , at Maracanã, to face Estudiantes, for the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores. Saúl Ñíguez should once again be among the starters for the red-black team.

The Rio de Janeiro Court ruled on Tuesday (16) that the organized fan group Jovem Fla is banned from attending stadiums for a period of two years. The decision was made by Judge Renato Guarino Martins, responding to an injunction requested by the Public Ministry of the State of Rio de Janeiro (MP-RJ) after new episodes of violence were recorded in early September.
The Specialized Stadium Policing Battalion (BEPE) released a report describing several incidents involving members of Jovem Fla . Among the incidents were reports of fans jumping train turnstiles , damaging a train station, and walking on the tracks, delaying the train's journey.
The Military Police also reported that members of the organized group were caught surfing on buses in the Cidade de Deus and Niterói regions. Fights were also reported on Avenida Brasil, near São Cristóvão, heading towards Maracanã Stadium.
According to the lawsuit, one of the members urinated on a police armored vehicle and posted on social media that he "wanted to cause trouble." A merchant also reported the theft of two cases of beer and two cases of soda from the stadium's North Sector.
BEPE also reported the assault suffered by Vasco fans in a bar on Rua Alfredo Valadão , in Copacabana. The court also sent a letter to the Public Prosecutor's Office with information about new episodes of violence involving other organized fan groups, such as Fúria, Força Jovem do Vasco and Jovem do Botafogo .
