There was no progress, nor any counter-offer . The negotiation that could have taken Matheus Gonçalves to Cruzeiro was terminated before it even formally began. The board of directors of the club ended any negotiations with Flamengo when faced with the request of R$52 million for the attacking midfielder.
The information was initially released by journalist Samuel Venâncio, with the investigation confirmed by sources linked to the Minas Gerais club. Flamengo , in turn, maintained its position of not facilitating the departure of one of its main youth players.
