Following the announcement of new elections at the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), the clubs that make up the Brazilian Football League (Libra) and the Liga Forte União (LFU) sent a joint statement declaring their support for Reinaldo Carneiro Bastos in the election for the new president of the entity. Removed, banned and impeached, none of the last 5 CBF Presidents finished their term.
Brazilian football can no longer be played on the courts. It needs to return to the fields. And that only happens with the Clubs on the field.
Following a court ruling issued last Thursday, a new election was scheduled for the CBF in just 24 hours, with a four-day deadline for registering candidates. What's more, the election was scheduled for a Sunday, the day of the Brazilian Championship round.
Now, once again, the focus is not on football. The game is different: preventing the clubs, those that really bring millions of Brazilians to the stadiums, generate audiences, bring families together for matches, guarantee the professional stability of thousands of athletes and professionals, attract billions of reais from brands, investors and media outlets, and promote the greatest passion of this country, from being the legitimate and true protagonists of the decisions.
There is no change without action.
Therefore, at this moment, Brazilian Clubs, already united in the mission of creating their League, come together to publicly support the election of Reinaldo Carneiro Bastos as president of the CBF for the next cycle.
The future of Brazilian football is non-negotiable for us. And we will all be together, on the same field, supporting and demanding a transparent, dignified and responsible process.

Ednaldo Rodrigues was removed from his position as president of the CBF by the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro (TJ-RJ). The legal reason given for the decision was a possible forgery of the signature of the former president of the entity, Colonel Nunes , of an agreement that resulted in his not being removed in January. Flamengo received important news this Monday (4). Midfielder Arrascaeta underwent tests at the club's training center, Ninho do Urubu, which ruled out any muscle injury in the thigh. Thus, the number 10 is fit to reinforce the team in the return match against Atlético-MG , in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil.
The Uruguayan was substituted at halftime of the match against Ceará last weekend after complaining of muscle discomfort. The decision to withdraw him was made by coach Filipe Luís as a preventative measure , avoiding the worsening of a possible clinical condition.
The player's departure at half-time caused apprehension among fans, who feared the absence of the team's main playmaker in a decisive match. Officially presented this Monday with the number 15 shirt, Jorge Carrascal arrived at Flamengo with the mission of strengthening the creative sector, occupying a role in which Arrascaeta has been a reference since 2019. Although he has not yet debuted with the Manto Sagrado, the Colombian midfielder stated that playing for the Rio de Janeiro club represents an important milestone in his professional career.
"The truth is, I came to Flamengo with a purpose: to work, compete, and achieve the best for the club. The short-term goal is to play and earn matches. I'll work hard, focus on the clear objective, and the lineup will depend on the coach," the player declared.
During the interview, Carrascal made a point of praising the club's structure and the Mais Querido's representation in the South American scene. According to him, the decision to wear the red-and-black jersey was made with conviction.
