On Monday afternoon (16), Tite was presented to the Press as Flamengo's new coach. The event took place at Ninho do Urubu and was widely publicized and talked about in various media outlets, as well as on social networks, as it was broadcast live by FlaTV. However, some people were not happy with such an important moment for the club.

Before agreeing with Mengão, Tite was contacted by Corinthians a number of times since his dismissal from the Brazilian team at the end of last year (2022). He never agreed to talk to the club's representatives, because he had a plan to try to return to Europe during this season and, supposedly, would only start negotiating with Brazilian teams in 2024.

The 'fight' over the coach between the two Brazilian giants became heated at the moment when Corinthians sent Vanderlei Luxemburgo away, even before Mais Querido made official the dismissal of Jorge Sampaoli, in the expectation of moving forward in negotiations for Tite. However, the coach already had final stage talks with Mengo. So, Mano Menezes left for the Itaquera club.

When he signed with Flamengo at the beginning of October, many Corinthians fans were dissatisfied, even feeling betrayed by the coach. With his presentation at the Red and Black Training Center, the reaction was no different. Tite is an idol of São Paulo's Alvinegro, having won the Club World Cup with the team almost ten years ago. See some reactions:

During the press conference this Monday (16), the coach spoke about the reason for choosing Rubro-Negro, possible tactical schemes, objectives at the club and the future of Mengão. He was not asked about his former team, Corinthians, and there were also no questions regarding the Brazilian team, which he led from 2017 to 2022.

This Monday (16), rumors emerged involving Bahia's interest in signing Gabigol, striker from Mais Querido. According to the channel Paparazzo Rubro-Negro, Tricolor de Aço would have entered the dispute for Gabigol, who has a contract with Flamengojust until December this year. In addition to Bahia, clubs such as Corinthians, Cruzeiro, Grêmio, Palmeiras and Santos would also be keeping an eye on the player.

Despite the speculation, the Bahia board was quick to deny any ongoing negotiations to count on the shirt 99 from Mengão. According to the club's leadership, there is no intention of repeating an operation similar to that carried out with Everton Ribeiro.

BAHIA'S INTEREST IS DENIED BY THE BOARD< /b>

As soon as news of the supposed interest began to circulate, Bahia tried to clarify the situation. In a statement, the club's senior management stated that there are no negotiations to sign Gabigol for next season. The information of possible interest, therefore, was directly denied by Tricolor's directors.

Even so, the attacker remains one of the most targeted names in the transfer market for 2025, as he is in the final stretch of contract with Flamengoand you can now sign a pre-contract with any other team.

CORINTHIANS STAND OUT AS FAVORITE

With Bahia's denial, Corinthians remains the main favorite to sign Gabigol from next year. The possibility of the red-black striker wearing the Timão shirt gains strength, especially after coach Tite appointed Gabigol as the third option for Mengão's attacking command, behind Pedro and Bruno Henrique.
