Just before half-time of Flamengo over Madureira, in the last round of the Guanabara Cup, Fabrício Bruno fell on the field and asked for a replacement. The player still had the opportunity to be examined and ended up leaving the match. After the duel, the Mengão defender underwent tests that revealed a fractured nose.

The play occurred around the 45th minute of the initial stage. In an aerial dispute, Fabrício Bruno got the worst of it after being hit in the face and ended up on the ground. Flamengo's doctors asked for him to be replaced, but the referee's whistle ending the first half allowed him to be better examined. Upon returning to the pitch, Léo Pereira took his place and scored a great free kick.

From the bench, Fabrício Bruno watched Flamengo's categorical victory against Madureira. At the end of the match, he said he felt a little pain, but that he was fine and that it was not a serious problem. He enjoyed the party on the field with his teammates and, after leaving Maracanã, he underwent new tests. Thus, a fractured nose was found.

Fabrício Bruno should be available for the next game

Despite it being a fracture, Fabrício Bruno is in good health. chances of being available for the first leg of the Carioca Championship semi-final, next weekend. This is because cases of nose injuries have a recovery that allows athletes to continue performing.

Recently, Uruguayan Varela had a similar problem after a fight with Gerson and entered the field around 48 hours later. The usual procedure is to use a carbon fiber mask, which provides good protection. It, however, must be used for a longer period, until the bones have fully recovered.

In an interview with GE to better elucidate the Varela case, the otorhinolaryngologist and cervicofacial surgeon, Carla Falsete, revealed that a period of one week is ideal for the player to return to the field. In the meantime, there is considerable swelling, which makes breathing difficult, and bone remodeling occurs. After this period, the swelling decreases and so does the risk of new bleeding.

This should be the case for Fabrício Bruno, who will have at least a week without games. It is worth remembering, however, that Flamengo is about to announce the signing of Léo Ortiz. Everything is fine with Bragantino and the 28-year-old athlete is expected in Rio de Janeiro next Tuesday (5).

Speculated as a possible reinforcement of Flamengo to fill the gap left by Pedro, striker Anthony Martial is free on the market, but has not played since December 9, 2023. On that occasion, Manchester United, his former club, entered the field to face Bournemouth and lost 3-0 in the Premier League. Martial was a starter and played for 56 minutes.

At the beginning of the year, the French striker suffered a groin injury that required surgery. Therefore, he was away for around 42 days, only returning in March. Even though there were three months left on his contract, Manchester United chose to let go of the player. Since then, Martial has been evaluating his next club and Flamengo is paying attention to his movements.

Just like Flamengo, Anthony Martial suffered from injuries in 2023/24. The star had several physical problems that kept him away from the field for a total of 60 days. Due to muscle pain, the player was not available for United in 12 matches last season.

Status of the deal between Flamengo and Anthony Martial

If the If Flamengo is really interested in the Frenchman, they will have to race against time and agree on the signing by Monday (9). Registration for free players is closing. According to Italian journalist Luca Bendoni, who works at the Gianluca Dimarzio portal, the deal could come to fruition soon.

Offered to Flamengo by his staff, Martial also had a drop in his personal numbers. In the 2022/23 season, the player scored six goals and provided two assists in the Premier League. In 2023/24, it was just one goal and no pass that resulted in the ball in the opponents' net.

In an intense match full of confusion, Flamengo was defeated 2-1 by Corinthians at the Neo Química Arena last Sunday (1). Wesley, who was at the center of a widespread fight at the end of the game, criticized the way the opponents acted.

Corinthians entered the field determined, as had been promised by its technical committee, board and players to the throughout the week. Treating the confrontation against Flamengo as a true final, the São Paulo team played with great intensity, which at several moments bordered on excessive. Upon leaving the stadium, Wesley was seen limping and, when asked about a possible injury, he spared no criticism of the Corinthians players: "The guys are crazy, man", said the full-back.

Wesley was the target of a harsh challenge from Yuri Alberto in the 50th minute of the second half, which resulted in the attacker being sent off. After the play, widespread confusion took over the field, leading to the expulsion of Alcaraz, for Flamengo, and Cacá, for Corinthians.
Flamengo player reveals who started the confusionAccording to defender Fabrício Bruno, the confusion caused by Yuri Alberto's entry into Wesley in second-half stoppage time was caused by another Corinthians player, who was not even warned.

Although Wesley went to confront Yuri after the foul, the fight intensified due to the uncontrolled reaction of the Corinthians players when trying to resolve the situation. Fabrício Bruno commented on the incident and criticized the refereeing, stating that the player who threw the first punch did not even receive a yellow card. "It's unbelievable, the first guy who throws the punch doesn't even get a yellow card. These things always happen. In a classic like this, you need better refereeing", said the defender.
