The 23rd round of the Brasileirão 2024 is in full swing. This Sunday (18), Palmeiras won the classic over São Paulo, by a score of 2-1, at Allianz Parque. With the triumph, the team led by Abel Ferreira reached the same 41 points as Flamengo, who lost to Botafogo 4x1.

With the victory at 'lights out', Palmeiras reached 41 points and tied with Flamengo in the Brasileirão table. However, even without yet taking the field in this round, Rubro-Negro is ahead of the São Paulo team due to goal difference.

Palmeiras ended the first half with the lead on the scoreboard, after Flaco López found the net. However, the second stage was full of emotions. That's because Luciano equalized for São Paulo and the game was heading towards a draw. However, in the 56th minute of the final stretch, in stoppage time, the striker from Palmeiras scored another goal and, with that, guaranteed Alviverde's victory over their rival.

Rubro-negro now needs to turn the key to the Libertadores da América. This is because there is a decisive game at altitude against Bolívar, for a place in the quarter-finals. In the first match, Tite's men won 2-0 at Maracanã and have the advantage of losing by up to a goal difference to pass. As for the Brasileirão, Fla will only return to the field next Sunday, at 4pm, against Bragantino, at Maracanã.
