In an interview with FlaTV, Neymar himself said that he has a desire to defend the club and made a declaration of love

0The victory over Grêmio at Maracanã marked a new chapter in a little Flamengo soap opera: the fans' dream of having Neymar as their backup. After all, number 10 took advantage of his vacation to go to the stadium to watch Rubro-Negro. The presence of the Brazilian national team star at the stadium reignited the debate about one day flirting becoming a marriage. In an interview with FlaTV, Neymar himself said that he has a desire to defend the club and made a declaration of love.
“I've always said that (dream of playing for Flamengo), right? Obviously Flamengo is my second favorite team. The first is Santos, with all due respect to the team that raised me, I've been a fan since I was little. But I have a great affection and it’s obvious that it would be a huge pleasure if one day I could play here,” he said. This, however, was not the first time that the striker spoke about playing for the Rio team. The possibility, in fact, has been debated for a long time. It all started in 2016, before the Olympics.
"It would be a great time to play for Flamengo. It's one of the biggest teams in Brazil and the world. Red and black nation, a big kiss, but there's still nothing right", said the striker at the time, weeks before winning the men's football team's first gold medal. A few months later, present at Maracanã for the "Game of the Stars" organized by Zico, the number 10 was once again asked about the possibility. "Who knows? It would be a great honor to play for Flamengo and be here every day. It's a team I want to play for."
The following year, Neymar mentioned Maracanã, in an interview with Esporte Interativo , to justify a possible desire to wear the red-black mantle. “I really want to play for Flamengo. Crowded Maracanã, Libertadores." A short time later, on TV Globo's Caldeirão do Huck program, the number 10 returned to his Santos days to mention how the Flamengo fans impressed him when they played against the team in Rio de Janeiro.
"I really want to play for Flamengo. There was a game, I don't know if it was at Maracanã or Engenhão, where I played against Flamengo and saw the fans. I think we were winning and the fans didn’t stop”, he recalled. The last statement was made, until last Thursday, in 2019, on FOX Sports. And Ney once again declared himself to the fans.
"I always talked about Flamengo, right. I don't know, I think it was for the fans, who I played against once. I think for the club, a certain desire to feel what it's like to be a Flamengo player, play at Maracanã and everything", he pointed out. Now, a new chapter in this relationship has been raised. There is still no deadline for the approach to reach a happy ending – Neymar reinforced that he has a contract with Al Hilal until 2025. The fans, however, have reasons to be excited. And it's not today.

The event will be held in Central Park, New York

0FIFA will announce the venues for the 2025 Super Club World Cup this Saturday (28). The announcement will be made during the Global Citizen Festival. The event will be held in Central Park, New York. FIFA did not detail how many cities and stadiums will host the 2025 edition. This will be the first time that the tournament will feature 32 teams.
The Super World Cup will be held between June 15 and July 13, 2025 The competition already has 30 qualified teams, with three Brazilians among them: Palmeiras, Flamengo and Fluminense. Brazil may have one more representative. This is because Atlético-MG and Botafogo are fighting for the last South American place in the competition — the Libertadores title gives them the place. Peñarol [if they win the Libertadores] and Olímpia [if River wins the Libertadores] are the other teams in the running.
The places are divided into: 12 for Europe, six for South America, four for Asia, Africa and North, Central America and the Caribbean, one for Oceania and one for the host country.
In addition to the remaining MLS spot, which has not yet defined its representative, the other available entry belongs to South America. It is destined for the champion of the edition of 2024 of the Libertadores. If River Plate wins the title, it will be transferred to the Conmebol ranking in FIFA and would already have an owner: Olímpia-PAR.

Brazilian player highlights the potential of the Middle Eastern country
|
0Forward Neymar, currently 32 years old and a player for Al-Hilal, expressed his support for Saudi Arabia's bid to host the 2034 World Cup. The Middle Eastern country made official its interest in hosting the tournament in July this year, and awaits confirmation of the venue, expected to be announced soon.
“Happy to have the World Cup here in Saudi Arabia. I think it will be a very surprising World Cup, for people from all over the world to get to know Saudi culture and the country more. I think it will be a beautiful experience. I hope to be here with everyone. I'm very happy for the country. I think the country deserves this recognition, this opportunity to be able to host a World Cup”, declared Neymar in a video published on Al-Hilal's social networks, this Monday (23), in celebration of Saudi National Day. p>
MAJOR INVESTMENTS IN SAUDI FOOTBALL
In recent years, Saudi Arabia has invested heavily in football, attracting big stars who played for the main clubs in Europe. Neymar, who transferred to Al-Hilal, and Cristiano Ronaldo, star of Al-Nassr, are examples of this movement that puts the country in the spotlight on the global sporting scene.
These investments seek to strengthen local football , and the possibility of hosting the 2034 World Cup is part of a larger strategy to project Saudi Arabia internationally, not only as a sporting destination, but also as a cultural and tourist destination.
Since his arrival in Saudi football, Neymar has had few opportunities to play. The player suffered a serious injury in October last year, while playing for the Brazilian team, which sidelined him. The striker underwent surgery on his left knee and is in the final stages of recovery, although there is still no official date for his return to the field.
