Real Madrid drew 2-2 with Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium, in a match valid for the 27th round of La Liga. The highlight of the game was Vini Júnior, not only for the two goals he scored (in the 50th minute of the first half and in the 31st minute of the second half), but also for his courage in celebrating one of the goals with an anti-racist gesture in front of the Valencia fans, who had insulted him during a match the previous season.

Even with this result, Real Madrid maintains the lead in the Spanish Championship, with 66 points - five more than Girona, second in the competition. Meanwhile, Valencia remains in the middle of the table, with 37 points achieved so far.

ACT AGAINST VINI JR'S RACISM

In celebration of one of his goals, the highlight of the match: Vinícius Júnior, created by Flamengo, celebrated with a clenched fist towards the Valencia fans, in an anti-racist gesture recognized by the Black Panther Movement.

The player's act was a response to the racist insults he suffered in the duel between Real Madrid and Valencia, at the same Mestalla stadium, last season. Last Saturday, the athlete again suffered racism in the stadium.

Real Madrid's next game is scheduled for Wednesday (6), at 5pm (Brasília time), in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16, against RB Leipzig. Carlo Ancelotti's team won the first leg 1-0 and a draw was enough to advance to the quarter-finals.

Last Wednesday (4), Flamengo held the seventh edition of the Sangue Rubro-negro campaign, at the Gávea headquarters. Hemorio's partner team was at the Gávea headquarters, from 10am to 3pm, collecting blood in the playground's party room. Athletes, employees and associates were able to donate and make a difference: each bag of blood can save up to four lives.

In addition to encouraging blood donation, the campaign also sought to raise awareness about the importance of this act of generosity and how it can save lives. “The partnership with Flamengo Social Responsibility is very important. More than attracting donors, this action seeks to awaken civic and social sentiment, ensure greater dissemination and demystify fears. It is an extremely educational and important action for maintaining stocks”, declared Dr. Renata de Almeida, a Hemorio doctor present at the action.

Blood donation is essential for health units to continue serving patients undergoing treatments and surgeries. The only way to guarantee the blood supply is through voluntary donations.

To donate blood, you must have an official identification document with photo, original or certified copy; be between 16 and 69 years old; be fed and in good health; weigh more than 50 kg; not be pregnant or breastfeeding. For more information about donating blood, visit www.hemorio.rj.gov.br or call 0800 282 0708. Hemorio is located at Rua Frei Caneca, nº 8, in the center of Rio. Donate blood, donate life!

Flamengo continues to wait for the return of Arrascaeta, who has been sidelined since August 18th, when he suffered an injury to his left thigh. The number 14 is being monitored by the club's Medical Department and his return to the field is still uncertain for the decisive clash against Bahia, valid for the quarter-finals of the Copa do Brasil. The game will take place on September 12th, at 9:45 pm, at Maracanã.

Arrascaeta has not yet started the transition phase to the field, remaining under the care of Flamengo's medical department. With less than a week to go until the match, the club is racing against time to count on the return of the Uruguayan star. According to journalist Venê Casagrande, the player is in the final stage of recovery and there is an expectation that he will begin the physical transition next Monday (09).

IMPACT OF INJURIES IN THE SECOND HALF

An undisputed starter at Flamengo and frequently called up for the Uruguayan national team, Arrascaeta has faced physical problems throughout the seasons, especially in the second half, when the calendar becomes more intense. Since 2019, the midfielder has suffered 70% of his injuries after June, totaling 20 absences for Flamengo, 14 of them from that period.

FLAMENGO ADVANTAGE IN THE BRAZILIAN CUP

In the first match of the quarter-finals against Bahia, Flamengo won 1-0 away from home, with a goal from Bruno Henrique. With this result, Rubro-Negro can even draw at Maracanã to guarantee their place in the tournament's semifinals. The team hopes to count on Arrascaeta, but is also preparing alternatives to make up for his possible absence.

FLAMENGO LIKELY TO FACE BAHIA

Flamengo still has some doubts for the clash, but the likely lineup has names like: Rossi, Wesley (Varela), Fabrício Bruno, Léo Pereira, Ayrton Lucas, Pulgar (Léo Ortiz), Allan, Gerson, Luiz Araújo, Bruno Henrique and Gabigol (Arrascaeta).
