The midfielder Reinier was loaned by Real Madrid to Granada, in Spain. The Merengue club had negotiations to loan him to Norwich, in England, but the boards were unable to reach a consensus on a purchase option clause. According to 'GE', Flamengo, Bahia and Fortaleza got in touch to find out the athlete's conditions, however, the Spanish ruled out a return to Brazil.

Norwich preferred the player to continue his career. In negotiating with Real Madrid, the English wanted a fixed price to buy the player already included in the contract, while Madrid only accepted the condition if the English team, which is in the Championship, the second English division, gained access to the Premier League. .

With this, the player's path was clear for a deal with Granada, who were relegated from La Liga last season. Tenerife also contacted the player's staff to find out the conditions, however, Reinier chose the Andalusian team. The club plans to return to the Spanish first division this season and is counting on the midfielder to help with the challenge.

Since leaving Flamengo to Real Madrid, Reinier never established himself at the club in the Spanish capital. After a few matches for the B team, the player was loaned to Borussia Dortmund, in Germany, but he also did not perform as expected. The midfielder toured Spain and Italy and returned to the Merengue club in July for pre-season. Coach Carlo Ancelotti had not been using the young man and offered advice after the match against Valladolid in the Spanish Championship.

“For football players, I recommend looking for a team where they can show their qualities. Simply,” said Ancelotti. In a recent interview with 'GE', Reinier said that he had matured in his last seasons in Europe and that he hoped to have a chance to prove his worth at Real Madrid. Now, the player has another chance to rediscover the football that took him to the Old Continent and manage to regain the status he had when leaving Mais Querido.

“Vinícius is not at his best, but he continues to be very important for us. He was decisive in the European Super Cup, for example. Two young talents revealed by Flamengo shone in Europe this Saturday (14). Goalkeeper Kauã Santos made his Bundesliga debut for Eintracht Frankfurt, helping the team to a 2-1 victory over Wolfsburg. Kauã entered the field after the experienced Kevin Trapp was injured at the end of the first half. Meanwhile, defender Léo Duarte scored his first goal in European football, securing Basaksehir's 1-0 victory over Bodrum in the Turkish league.

Kauã Santos, who arrived at Flamengo at the age of 16, he never played for the Rio club's main team. After standing out in the youth categories, the goalkeeper caught the attention of Eintracht Frankfurt, who invested R$8.4 million for 70% of his economic rights. On his debut, Kauã was unable to save a penalty taken by Baku, but held off Wolfsburg's pressure, helping to maintain his team's victory.

In turn, Léo Duarte, Copinha champion, rose to Flamengo professionals in 2016 and, little by little, established himself as a starter. In 2018, Milan, from Italy, spent 11 million euros to sign him. After a discreet spell at the Italian club, Léo transferred to Basaksehir, where he finally scored for the first time in Europe.

Léo Duarte and Kauã Santos' moment in Europe

Léo Duarte's Basaksehir occupies third place in the Turkish league with 10 points, just two less than leader Galatasaray. Kauã Santos' Eintracht Frankfurt is in sixth place in the Bundesliga, with six points, three behind leaders Bayern Munich.

Real Madrid players criticize new FIFA World Cup; Flamengo is among the participants

Flamengo is among those classified for the new FIFA Club World Cup which will be held in June 15 to July 13, 2025. The tournament will take place in the United States and will serve as a test event before the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the three North American countries (Canada, USA and Mexico).

The competition, however, has been the target of numerous criticisms, mainly from Europeans. Right-back Dani Carvajal and Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde, in a press conference ahead of the UEFA Super Cup, disputed the calendar set up by FIFA and said it was impossible to maintain high performance with so many games.

“It doesn't make any sense. I repeat what I said before: It is impossible for us to maintain a great level and maximum performance having to travel to the FIFA Intercontinental Cup and the new FIFA Club World Cup”, said Carvajal. The Spaniard also said that athletes make a lot of trips on FIFA Dates and assured that no player can be at full capacity after 72 games.

Midfielder Valverde agreed with his clubmate and also added the fact that South American players who play in Europe have to make long trips during FIFA Dates when returning to their home country.

“Those who are from South America, for each national team game, have 12-hour trips and then play the next day. Obviously, it's very complicated. For example, this year, we have already trained much less. We have much less energy for this year and it will be difficult. We will try to do the best we can every day”, said the Uruguayan.

Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, corroborated his athletes' statements. “I think what the players think is the most important thing because they are the ones who play the matches, run for 90 minutes and have to travel”, said the Italian, who had previously criticized the new Club World Cup and even declared that the Merengue club would not play in the contest. The Spanish giant's board denied the coach.
