Vinicius Jr. used his official Instagram account to write a message of thanks to Toni Kroos, who announced this Tuesday (21) that he will retire from football after participating with the German national team in the European Championship.

The Brazilian said that today is a “sad day for Madrid fans, but a terrible day for the ball and for football”. Side by side in the Real Madrid first team since mid-2018, the pair have racked up trophies over the last few years with the Real Madrid shirt.

In total, the pair have won 11 trophies at Real Madrid. In the current season, both won LALIGA and will have a “last act” in the decision of the Uefa Champions League, which will take place on June 1st, at 4pm, Brasília, in Wembley, England, against Borussia Dortmund.
