No mathematical chances of the Brazilian title, the Flamengo decided to bring forward the vacations of goalkeeper Dyogo Alves, defender Cleiton, midfielder Lorran and striker Carlinhos. The four will return on December 27th to begin preparing for the initial rounds of theCarioca Championship.

Lorran had an encouraging start to the season

One of the great promises of the Flamengo, Lorran was one of those who had an early vacation. The Rubro-Negra jewel started 2024 on a great level with the victory of the unprecedented Libertadores by the Under-20s, in March, in the final won 2-1 over Boca Juniors. The attacking midfielder provided the assist for Shola to tie the game and scored the tournament's title goal.

Performance in the final of the Libertadores U-20 made Tite's technical committee look fondly at the player, who became part of Flamengo's professional team since the beginning of the Brazilian Championship.

Lorran entered matches frequently at the beginning of the championship and had his great moment in the 2-0 victory over Corinthians, on May 11th, in the 6th round. On that occasion, the 17-year-old started the starting duel, assisted Pedro's first goal and scored the second in the Rubro-Negra victory.

Decrease in income and boos from fans

If the first months were quite productive for Rugal, the The second half was marked by scarce opportunities in the team. Just over a month after his great performance against Corinthians, the boy was even booed by the fans in the 2-1 victory against Cruzeiro, in the 13th round, on June 30th.

Since then , Ninho's creation lost space and began to be little used both in the final stretch of Tite, and by Filipe Luís, who took command of the team on September 30th, after dismissal of the former coach.

Flamengo returns to the field this Wednesday (20) to face Internacional, at Beira-Rio, in the second leg of the round of 16 of the Libertadores. Defender Léo Ortiz continues to attract interest in European football , this time from Napoli. Representatives from the Italian club are expected to closely monitor the defender's performance in the Copa Libertadores Round of 16 clash against Internacional . Despite this, Napoli has not yet received any official offers and considers the player's departure this summer unlikely.

Internally, Flamengo's board classifies Ortiz as part of the group of "non-negotiable" players . He would only be released if an offer very close to the player's release clause, set at €80 million. In July, RB Leipzig offered around €15 million (R$95.6 million) , but the offer was promptly rejected.

Although he aspires to play in European football at some point in his career, Ortiz also feels comfortable wearing the Flamengo jersey. The defender has quickly established himself in the squad, becoming one of coach Filipe Luís's most used players this season.

INTEREST FROM OTHER CLUBS

Besides Napoli, other teams are monitoring the defender's situation, including Juventus and Roma, who have already made inquiries. However, so far, only RB Leipzig has formalized a concrete offer . The approaching closing date of the European transfer window, September 2nd, could accelerate moves, but the club's board reiterates its position of not negotiating its starting player.

SEASONAL HIGHLIGHT

In the 2025 season, Léo Ortiz has made 40 appearances, scoring four goals, and providing two assists , playing a key role in the defense. His strong performance has also earned him call-ups to the Brazilian national team in the last three FIFA World Cups. The defender now hopes to be on Carlo Ancelotti's roster for the upcoming matches against Chile and Bolivia.
