Bahia finalized this Wednesday morning (11), at CT Evaristo de Macedo, preparations for the decisive clash against Flamengo, valid for the second game of the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil. The match will take place this Thursday (12), at 9:30 pm, at the Maracanã stadium, in Rio de Janeiro.
During training, the tricolor squad started with physical and technical activities, followed by focused work in passes at the edge of the area, crosses and finishes. Coach Rogério Ceni took advantage of the sequence to make tactical adjustments with the starting players on a reduced field, while the rest of the squad continued with technical exercises.
In the final phase of training, all athletes practiced penalty kicks, strategic preparation, as Bahia may need this alternative if they beat Flamengoby a goal difference, taking the decision to penalties.
Bahia should go to the field with Marcos Felipe in goal; Arias, Kanu, Gabriel Xavier and Juba forming the defense line; in the middle, Caio Alexandre, Jean Lucas, Everton Ribeiro and Cauly are the likely chosen ones; in attack, Thaciano and Everaldo complete the team.
After the training, the tricolor team leaves for Rio de Janeiro in the early afternoon of this Wednesday, where they will concentrate for the clash at Maracanã. Bahia seeks to reverse the score from the first game, in Salvador.
The teams play the first game of the quarterfinals at 7 p.m.

Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.

Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. "The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the athlete Gabriel Barbosa underwent tests that did not diagnose an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."

Red-and-black striker is the target of speculation in the transfer market

This Monday (16), rumors emerged involving Bahia's interest in signing Gabigol, striker from Mais Querido. According to the channel Paparazzo Rubro-Negro, Tricolor de Aço would have entered the dispute for Gabigol, who has a contract with Flamengojust until December this year. In addition to Bahia, clubs such as Corinthians, Cruzeiro, Grêmio, Palmeiras and Santos would also be keeping an eye on the player.
Despite the speculation, the Bahia board was quick to deny any ongoing negotiations to count on the shirt 99 from Mengão. According to the club's leadership, there is no intention of repeating an operation similar to that carried out with Everton Ribeiro.
As soon as news of the supposed interest began to circulate, Bahia tried to clarify the situation. In a statement, the club's senior management stated that there are no negotiations to sign Gabigol for next season. The information of possible interest, therefore, was directly denied by Tricolor's directors.
Even so, the attacker remains one of the most targeted names in the transfer market for 2025, as he is in the final stretch of contract with Flamengoand you can now sign a pre-contract with any other team.
With Bahia's denial, Corinthians remains the main favorite to sign Gabigol from next year. The possibility of the red-black striker wearing the Timão shirt gains strength, especially after coach Tite appointed Gabigol as the third option for Mengão's attacking command, behind Pedro and Bruno Henrique.
