Flamengo basketball said goodbye to two players this Wednesday (4). Jordan Williams and Matheus Leoni are no longer part of the red-black squad and had their departure confirmed through official social media. “ FlaBasquete says goodbye and thanks Jordan Williams and Matheus Leoni for their dedication and achievements with Regata Sagrada. Thanks, my dears! ”, the club posted.


Forward Jordan William has agreed to transfer to Minas Gerais, Flabasquete 's direct rival on the national stage. During his time with the Rio de Janeiro team, he averaged 12 points and four rebounds per game , making him one of the standout players on the roster.


MATHEUS LEONI LEAVES THE CLUB

He was MVP of the 2017/18 Finals for Paulistano/CORPe, averaging 11.8 points and 6.2 rebounds . He has also played for Unifacisa, KTO Minas, Limeira, and Liga Sorocabana. In 2022, he represented Unifacisa in the South American League, averaging 11.2 points and 6.4 rebounds.

The match started intensely, with both teams playing offensively. Brazil took a 7-3 lead and closed the first quarter with a 16-15 lead, fueled by Guilherme Deodato, who scored nine points . From the second quarter onward, former Flabasquete player Yago Santos and Bruno Caboclo took center stage. The point guard scored nine points before halftime, while the center contributed eight, giving Brazil a seven-point lead: 31-24.


ARGENTINA REACTS IN THE SECOND HALF
