The former full-back of Flamengo , Matheuzinho, was one of Corinthians' highlights when he scored one of the goals in the 5-2 victory over Athletico-PR, last Thursday (17), in a match valid for the Brasileirão. After the game, the player sent a messageto Rubro-Negro, who will face Corinthians in the decision for a place in the final of the Copa do Brasil, next Sunday (20).
“I can give them a message: it will be hostile weather. I know this crowd, they will do everything, and our team will also do everything to qualify. It's a good team on the other side, we have to respect it, of course, but we're going to play on equal terms and create a hostile atmosphere here to reverse the result and come out with the classification”, commented Matheuzinho, during the mixed zone.
Matheuzinho was traded by Flamengoin February 2024, after having played in 153 matches and scored four goals for the club. Now defending Corinthians, he will have the opportunity to reunite with his former team. “It has a special taste. I played there for a long time, it was the team that opened the doors for me in the Brazilian Series A, but today my focus is 100% on Corinthians, and that is the most important thing for me”, he stated.

On Sunday (20), at 4pm (Brasília time), Flamengoand Corinthians will face each other at the Neo Química Arena, in São Paulo, in the second leg of the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil. Flamengo won the first game 1-0 and only needs a drawto advance to the final. However, in the event of a tie on the aggregate score, the decision will go to penalties. Mengão will only be left out of the final if they lose by two or more goals difference.

Flamengo received, this Friday (1st), another millionaire amount related to the sale of right-back Matheuzinho. Corinthians paid around R$ 14 million to Rubro-Negro , paying off the remaining amount of the negotiation made in February of this year.
At the time, the Rio de Janeiro club sold the player for R$21.48 million, but Corinthians delayed the third installment of the agreement. As a result, Flamengo demanded immediate payment of the entire outstanding amount . The information was initially reported by the portal Meu Timão.
To facilitate the payment, Corinthians signed an agreement with Brax, the company responsible for marketing advertising signs for both clubs. The company acted as guarantor for the deal and transferred the funds to Flamengo .
By August, Corinthians had already paid R$8 million directly to the Rio de Janeiro club. It then transferred R$7.58 million to Brax , which topped up the amount with another R$6 million , fully settling the debt with the club.
While the board celebrates receiving the amount, Flamengo remains focused on the field. The team led by Filipe Luís returns to play this Sunday (3), against Ceará, at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), at Arena Castelão, for the 18th round of the Brasileirão. The match will be broadcast live on Premiere, on pay-per-view.

Flamengo has already made four signings official this transfer window , but the delay in negotiations has drawn criticism from some fans . During striker Samuel Lino's presentation, football director José Boto spoke out on the matter and apologized to the Flamengo Nation.
“Sometimes things take a little longer than the fans want, and I apologize to the fans, but we ( Flamengo 's board) have fixed ideas, and as long as it's possible to have the players we want , we'll go after it,” explained Boto.
Brazilian football's second transfer window opened on July 10th, and Flamengo began the period cautiously, monitoring the market and evaluating options. As the weeks progressed, the board accelerated negotiations and secured four key signings : Saúl Ñíguez, Emerson Royal, Samuel Lino, and Jorge Carrascal.
Despite the names already confirmed, Flamengo remains attentive to the market. The club is in ongoing negotiations with Fiorentina, Italy, to sign striker Lucas Beltrán . Flamengo has already agreed on a fee with the Italian club, but still needs to convince the Argentine player to return to South America.

Flamengo announced the early opening of ticket sales for the three games it will play at Maracanã in August, all valid for the Brazilian Championship. Starting next Monday (August 4), fan club members will have priority access to purchase tickets, with differentiated prices according to the Programa Nação plan.
Ticket sales will be staggered, respecting the hierarchy of plans, before being opened to the general public. Purchases must be made exclusively through ingressos.flamengo.com.br , the official channel for ticket sales for the Mais Querido's games.
Members of the Nation Without Borders plan will be able to purchase up to two tickets per match, as long as they haven't already used the benefit this season. The window for this plan opens at 10 a.m. on August 4th. Prices follow the general public price list . Access to other plans will be progressively enhanced according to the club's schedule, before being released to fans without membership on dates to be announced later.
Fans seeking a unique experience can opt for the Fla+ Space , which offers an exclusive environment in the Lower East and West sectors, with a full buffet and free draft beer before kickoff. The additional cost is R$200 per ticket.
Members who purchase tickets for the Maracanã Mais and Oeste Inferior sectors can secure a spot in the Célio de Barros Parking Lot , next to the stadium. The cost is R$180 and must be purchased with the ticket, subject to availability.
