One of the main names in the squad led by Abel Ferreira, Richard Ríos could be close to an international transfer. The 24-year-old Colombian midfielder has received an official offer from a Qatari club, and Palmeiras is already aware of the interest and willing to negotiate with him upon an offer considered satisfactory.
Despite being at the peak of his career and being targeted by European clubs, the athlete finds himself faced with a proposal that is “difficult to refuse” financially. According to people involved in the negotiation, the amounts offered would double Ríos’ monthly salary, with additional amounts linked to sporting goals.
Behind the scenes at the Football Academy, the possibility of his departure is not treated as a surprise. Internally, the assessment is that interest in the Colombian has been growing since the second half of 2024, when clubs from England, Italy and Spain made inquiries. Now, the pressure is coming from an alternative market, but with high investment power.
The name of the club interested in Ríos 's football has not yet been revealed, but the proposal has already reached the player's staff and Palmeiras. Verdão has set a value of around R$190 million to release the athlete. The amount would be enough to convince the board, which has so far managed to hold on to the midfielder despite the European pressure.
Ríos' contract with Palmeiras runs until the end of 2027. The release clause for players abroad is higher, but the São Paulo club is open to negotiations. During the press conference in São Januário, the attacking midfielder avoided mentioning the name of the club that formed him , Cruzmaltino's biggest rival, and reinforced the total focus on the new team.

When asked about the pressure from his past at Gávea and the reasons that led him to choose Vasco, França preferred not to delve into the subject , focusing only on the conversations he had with those responsible for Cruzmaltino.
"Everyone knows about my beginnings at the rival club. But the most important thing is to focus here at Vasco, a big and important club. This was my choice, based on conversations with Diniz, Felipe, and Pedrinho . I'm grateful for the support and the conversations from the beginning. I don't feel any pressure. I'm a player who will give his all for Vasco , and that's what matters," he stated.
In July 2023, Crystal Palace signed Matheus França from Flamengo for €20 million (approximately R$104 million at the time), with bonuses that could have increased the fee to €30 million . However, the Gávea native's journey in England was marked by difficulties. The attacking midfielder suffered a series of injuries—to his groin, back, ribs, and thighs—that hampered his adaptation.
He was away from the field for 345 days, returning only in February of this year. During that time, he played 19 games, scoring one goal and providing one assist for the London club . Due to his limited use, Crystal Palace opted to loan him until mid-2026. The contract with Vasco does not include a purchase option.

Formed in the youth ranks of Flamengo , former player Leonardo spoke again about the controversy surrounding the 1987 Brazilian Championship title .
